Buttersynth is great, but....

I really like Buttersynth, as it's quite powerful and has numerous synth-making possibilities, but when I'm creating a beautiful sound, boom, and it crashes. Can the developer do something to make it more stable? Please !!

    Not all developers are on this forum. If you want something fixed contact the developer directly. That should always be the first action you take.

    This is why for synth AUv3s, I stick to things like Bleass's synths, FabFilter's Twin 3 when working on iPad, ToneBooster's Flowtones and Lowtone, Analog Matt's romplers and synths, etc. Things that are stable for me personally.

    Buttersynth is a magnificent synth, but yeah, it tends to crash quite a bit. That's a "showstopper" for me, so I don't use it.

    ButterSynth is well known to have stability issues, it’s been years and the developer is not updating it so don’t count on it. Bounce your tracks.

    Heck yeah!!!

    And the parameters of those modulators (as shown in screenshot above) can be further modulated with other modulators. And THOSE parameters can be futher modulated with other modulators etc.

    And when you get tired of that, you can hit the dice and mess it all up and try something else.

    No UNDO though, so save frequently but apart from that it's a sound design paradise. And it'll be even better when the Tera Pro 3 update comes out with live input as an audio source and (we hope) the new CloudZ module.

    BTW, the reason why ppl might refer to the Wavetable module as just 'Waves' is because that was the name when it came out. But then the Waveshaping IAP came out, and so I guess the dev had to change the name of the first one to Wavetable, to avoid confusion.

    I also got the Waves expansion pack..Maybe the FM next. I hope it's a stable beast. I think perhaps the main problem with Butter is that it allocates too much memory, and then it crashes, which the iPad doesn't have. I'm on an M2 Pro.

    You might also want to drop the Max polyphony to 32 or 64, as this means quite a saving on CPU/battery compared with the default setting of 128.

    Funny you said that, I did that today:)..... and also as a standalone, it's not crashing as much—still, an awesome synth. I don't even know if it's in the Apple Store anymore.

    Tera Pro is the only synth you need. Nothing else comes close on IOS. Particularly like the Additive capabilities but it's all great. A true desert island synth...

    I’ll keep Buttersynth forever if only for its wavetable editor.
    Tera’s Waves, in comparison, is a little limited concerning wavetables, but you definitely should consider Oscidia, usual stellar work by Paul.
