Buttons to change the midi channels on my keyboard controller ?

Is it possible in Loopy Pro to create buttons for each of the synth channels/color channels in the project that will send a MIDI PC (or other type of MIDI message) out to my keyboard controller (Axiom 49) to update the MIDI channel?

Basically I want to jump around between the synths in my project without having to punch in or step through the midi channels on the keyboard itself. This would be a faster and easier way to do it.

Loopy Pro can send whatever MIDI messages you want to your MIDI Controller. The Send MIDI Message action lets you choose the message and destination. Depending on the details, you might want to set up radio buttons or a stepped dial to do it. If you use send MIDI message as the Item Source in a radio button or stepped dial, you can set the type of midi message to send (in this case PC) and the range you want to send (say 0-15) and Loopy will create that many buttons/dial steps and send the appropriate value for each.

There isn't an action to alter midi channels. You could use a Streambyter or Mozaic script for that purpose, but I suggest using the mfxStrip plugin so that you don't have to do any coding. Then you can set your buttons, or a stepped dial, to change the "CHANNEL outgoing" AUv3 parameter on that plugin. Set your controller as the source for mfxStrip rather than the synths, then set mfxStrip as the source for the synths.

You can also save presets in the plugin to do the conversions, then use the buttons to load those presets instead.

  • Confirmed. Upon further review in the manual it looks like the Axiom 49 doesn't support it. mfxStrip looks interesting, will give that a try. Thanks!
