Question as regards spending the season with the Timbaland MasterClass
A friend has kindly gifted me the MasterClass by Timothy Zachery Mosley, known professionally as Timbaland, on the subject of 'Producing and Beat Making'. I do not know Tim or his work, but imagine he must be something or other in these fields.
I am an utter novice and a fool but at least know that about myself and thus am willing to learn. However I am also closer to stopping than I used to be and want to try and make the most of the (producing and maybe even beat-making) time left to me etc.
Worth putting the pie mostly aside this Christmas to spend it with Tim? All opinions welcome.

He is a highly regarded producer, so you will probably be able to learn things from him that go beyond just beat making. He has produced some of the most iconic rap and R&B songs, but his style is decidedly on the weirder and inventive side of beat making. Why wouldn’t you try it out? It sounds like a phenomenal gift.
The Tim masterclass was fun… so was Sheila E’s!
I think I took that Masterclass years ago. It was pretty great. So was Deadmau5's masterclass as well as Armin Van Buuren's. If you were gifted an all access pass rather than just Timbaland's Masterclass, I say watch all three of those. Start with Timbaland's first.
Also, you don't know Timbaland is mate!? He's one of the most important top tier music producers from the 90s and onward. Mostly in Hip-Hop and RnB, but he also produced Pop like Justin Timberlake's "Sexy Back".
Edit: (Edited out a dumb sentence, lol.)
I like how Timbaland uses beatboxing as his sketch pad 🔥 he’s getting his ideas out by any means necessary
Thanks @timelining @DSZA and @Stuntman_mike, and as for you @jwmmakerofmusic I don't know nuthin about nuthin Mister, but I have heard that a young Irishman called Van Morrison's worth looking out for and Mott The Hoople had a single out recently that folks swear by, but I've been away, you know how it is, you just wait until I get all up round stuff with my new friend Tim! Depressed ambient poetry beat slamming is going to be huge in 26 baby.
LOL! Looks like I have a half-finished last sentence in my post. I will edit that out.
Anyways, what exactly did your friend gift you? The all access pass? Or just Timbaland's masterclass?
Only Timmy for now, but if he takes me to the promised land I might take a look at Deadmau5 too....
Nice! Both are worth it mate.
Yeah Timbo’s a few steps away from those TB sheets, but the Masterclasses I’ve done are just neat in general. The idea would be to take the ideas and apply them to your own. Not use them as a step by step. But I got an accent cause I’m from the south but some of the most beautiful things come out my mouth!
