nice to see how people are using it; watching the choices, etc.
"Mutante" is interesting how it departs from expectations.

zero planning :-) i just hit record and play :-))

i got inspired here from beginning by bassline which reminded me track - Hardfloor - Acperience 1

    Hardfloor is 🔥🔥🔥🔥

  • another one .. more funky .. but i feel it starts literally beg for different sound palletes already, to avoid repetiteveness …

How about a separate app in the same/similar format with an entirely new pallet kind of like the different Electribes or similar hardware? I’d buy!

i imagine more like Elektron approach with different machines , whre you choose machine per slot (track)

I thought that but have no idea what would be most practical to develop. I’m sure @brambos could do anything.

Why not just route the MIDI from each channel to a synth/sampler of your choice and use Battlestation purely as a generative sequencer?

That is an interesting approach, but I would have had to build the app from the start with such a modular approach in mind. It's not easy to retrofit that into a fixed-architecture app without basically starting all over. So that'll be a BS 2.0 then.

i don’t like complicated routings, it kills the fun for me, i love simplicity of standalone version

but.. maybe will try it at least once just to have opportunity to say “i tried it” :-))

    Will post here results :-)

  • Battlestation is sweet as is. But imagine if you could record knob movement within a memory bank. 😳

The Elektron Digitone and the lightweight Cycles are FM synthesis at its core. These are used all over the place by producers. Imagine, a Bram Bos Elektron.. Kind of a Ruismaker FM on steroids.

  • Can Battlestation do chilled and groovy? Seems like it.

    Merry Christmas all.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Hi @brambos - I just noticed while transferring a preset from one device to another that there isn't an association in the share sheet with .battlestation files. It would be handy if there was since then (I think) airdrop would automatically open Battlestaton. If not then at least the share sheet would be able to open the app directly.

It still works to use the import function, but perhaps could be more user / beginner friendly with the share sheet association.

  • Wish I could import my own samples into the drum section!

You can always use midi out to trigger them in something else.

They’re not samples (except for the hats). The rest is all fully synthesised :)

This is so different than the other tracks I’ve heard of made. Dig it a lot. Well done.

    Same. Nice!

Damn this app is RIDICULOUS amount of fun.
App of the year for me.

    COOOOLLL

  • @brambos -The selected memory slot isn’t saved/restored with the preset. Is that intended behavior?

The state of the memory slot is restored but not the indicator, right?

    You're right. My bad.

  • Had a blast using Battlestation for the first time. So quick to get a good groove! Will try to map a bit of my MFT to it and see. Love the generation buttons, it's the same as in jAmp Percussive, which I use a lot.

As it was already mentionned before, I do wish there was a solution to remove the side scrolling. Having everything in a true 1-pager would be huge. I understand the part about negative space, but my brain tends to forget the parts of the app that are not in the screen.

Thanks @brambos for such a nice app :)

  • Nice! Update out today with option to turn off the crash cymbal. 👍🏼👍🏼
