Thanks. That's the first time I've ever heard my music described as optimized. LOL

Heh, sorry, that was supposed to be optimism.

  • A little heavy metal for world peace

  • My latest. A little prog rock for world peace

  • Some more prog rock for world peace

  • I’m not a big vocals fan (nothing personal Steven) + more of a prog rocker than singer songwriter so those last two tracks were my favourites 🙏
I thought Part 1 was superb, the Christmasy / orchestral last section was beautiful.
Part 2 definitely continued the feel, a bit Greg Lake like I thought to begin with, then a bit of an ethnic vibe then grand piano etc etc.

Thanks Tony. ELP was a big influence on me. I think it's obvious.

  • 14th and final track from my upcoming CD "Music For World Peace Vol 2"

Thanks. I had fun doing it. I'm kind of a prog rock freak at heart.

  • What’s the difference between prog rock and fusion? Asking for a friend of a friend.

    Fusion is more jazz oriented.

Actually, that's only partially accurate. Jazz Fusion is one type of fusion. There are other types where 2 or more musical genres are mixed together. The difference is a very fine line when you start getting into the more esoteric fusion genres. But the main difference is that prog rock, generally, moves into classical music territory. Thus lots of orchestrations, piano type concertos or mini concertos.

Let me put it this way. I know prog rock when I hear it and I know fusion when I hear it. It's a crappy definition but it's kind of like defining porn. I can't define it but I know it when I see it.

    Hope this helps.

  • 1st and title track from my upcoming CD "Into The Nexus"

Arguably the most commercial thing I've ever done.

  • 2nd track from my upcoming CD "Into The Nexus"

I am really loving Nexus VST

My explanation of prog is rock taking experimentation to the extreme. Generally it’s longer song form, more solos, lots of musicianship display. Many bands integrated some classical influences into their music as wag said.

My explanation of jazz fusion is jazz musicians thinking they added rock influences to their music but I don’t hear it. No my style if you can tell.

  • I appreciate it, @ecou and @wagtunes . That certainly helps.

  • 3rd track from my upcoming CD "Into The Nexus"

  • I love your thread idea and your catchy tunes @wagtunes!!!

Thanks. I think putting all my songs in one thread is better than cluttering up the forum with multiple threads. Not that I have anything against anybody who makes a separate thread for each song. It just makes it harder to find all their music.

Yes, you are so right… I’m also thinking it could be a adhoc project folder, perhaps for developing ideas and facilitating collaborations!

  • 4th track from my upcoming CD "Into The Nexus"

  • I like these "Into the Nexus" songs @wagdog. I find your voice fitting to the instrumentalisation. Do you also make electronic music?

I do all kinds of music. I did a whole Trance album several years ago.

Oh well 😅 I'm glad to contribute to your happiness 😋

  • 5th track from my upcoming CD "Into The Nexus"

My first use of Serato Sample. Pretty cool beat slicer, among other things. Also first use of OsTirus, a Virus TI emulator. I have way too many toys. LOL
