Caustic 3: Got an Android device?
By accident I just stumbled over Rej's web site and discovered something beautiful:
He has managed to build the app for newer (x64) Android versions and he now decided to make the download available for free, outside the Play Store.
Of course, the usual preparations to install an unsigned apk outside of Play Store apply.

Still works on iPad A16 iPadOS 26.2. The FTP connects to Documents by Readdle for easy file management.
I have been using Caustic for years on my android phones & still use it every day on my Galaxy S22. It is so inspiring. Basic compared to other DAWs but thats probably why I love it. Glad to see it bought back to life.

Wow, how well does the eye tracking work with Caustic?
The Quest 3 doesn't have eye tracking but with finger tracking I can poke the pattern grid to add notes and push the buttons. I don't normally have finger tracking on since I find it more awkward and "proof of concept" on the Quest than useful (and you have to opt in to sending data about your use of it to Meta -- including the shape and size of your hands, IIRC!), but I turned it on for this to see if it works, and it does.
Caustic works great with a bluetooth mouse connected, however (which is my preferred way to use sideloaded non-game apps).

Is there any way to sync Caustics tempo via MIDI or Ableton Link? Couldn’t find anything in the manual. And in my experiments the (iOS Version) only responds to MIDI start / stop messages but doesn’t seem to sync tempo. And I’m interested if sync is working better on other platforms (Windows, Android).
