Looping into the RC-505mk2 w/ Loopy pro help needed pls!
Hi, i'm wondering if someone can help me please, i'm trying to record a loop on my RC-505mk2 but with the audio going into Loopy Pro via USB midi to be effected with Auv3 effects then getting sent back to the RC-505mk2 to record it in an imprinted way with the effected sound.
So far i have it where the Auv3's are still controlling what's recorded onto the RC-505mk2.
So if i bypass the auv3 in Loopy Pro, it returns to an unaffected sound.
My settings on the RC-505mk2 are:
Menu > USB > Mode: Generic (because i'm using Loopy Pro on ios)
and routing to Line out (if i change this to Loop in) an annoying high pitched feedback happens)
I can't find a dedicated RC-505mk2 forum so i'm hoping someone would be able to help me here who might also use this looper with Loopy Pro
Thanks!

Hi,
Welcome to the forum. I am a little confused. You say that you want to send audio via USB MIDI. MIDI has no audio data. Do you mean that you want to send audio back and forth over USB?
I am unclear as to what it is you want and the difference between what you want and what is happening?
I think I may understand what's happening here. I think the Loop In setting is what you need, but you're getting an audio feedback loop because the RC505 loop is outputting to Loopy Pro, then is being fed back in to the looper, which is going back out to Loopy, which is then being fed back in...
Does the feedback loop happen only when you're playing back an RC505 loop, or does it also happen with live input? When not looping, do you hear the FX in Loopy being applied to the live signal?
Screenshots of your Loopy Mixer with all the inputs and outputs, plus FX, shown, as well as the detail of the input options dialog that you see when you tap on the input at the top of the mixer will probably help as well. I don't have an RC505 to work with, so I can't determine which input/output options there may be.
If you're hearing the FX as you should when live playing and an RC505 loop isn't playing, but getting the feedback screech when playing back a loop, then it will be necessary to mute the RC505 input in Loopy when playing back the loop ... unless there is some way to use separate input and output paths.
Hi Espiegel, sorry I shouldn't of mentioned midi
So the Boss RC-505mk2 uses USB to send and receive audio so my chain is microphone > 505mk2 > Loopy Pro (w/ auv3 effects) > back to the 505mk2 to record the loop
At first plays how I want it for a first loop, but the second i mute/bypass/change the auv3 i just used, the recorded loop on the 505mk2 changes with what's happening in Loopy Pro which i don't want to happen.
I want the loop recorded on the RC-505mk2 to record in a printed/destructive way which will free my up to change to a different bunch of Auv3 for my next loop.
apologies if this is more of a 505-mk2 related question as apposed to Loopy Pro
Thanks!
Thanks, will send screenshots tomorrow... this video here explains what i'm doing as far using Loopy Pro as an effects unit for the RC-505mk2 from 3:54
@bbxhann : it sounds like it boils down to whether the 505 can be configured to only send its guitar input and not its loop output over USB when running as a class compliant interface.

There are a few performers in the Loopy Pro Facebook group that use hybrid Loopy Pro/ 505 setups. As much as I hate Facebook, you may get better answers there.
That's all about MIDI sync and CC control. There's nothing about audio other than at the very end about sending the audio out from the RC505 to Loopy to record performances from the RC505 into Loopy.
There's nothing at all there about what you're trying to do which is sending audio out from the RC505, through FX in Loopy Pro, and then back out to the RC-505 to be recorded to loops.
Whether or not what you want to do can be done remains to be seen, and depends on the answers to my earlier questions. Let us know when you get a chance to check it out further.
thank you so much for your help, will let you know when i get back home thursday to check it out further
