The Other One, a documentary centered on Bob Weir, available on Netflix, is a good watch.

  • Read about it yesterday on Reddit, right before I went to bed. Been slowly getting to know Grateful Dead’s music since watching the documentary on Amazon Prime during the pandemic and his passing really hit me. “American Beauty” was the first record in listened to after my son was born.

  • Thanks to a Deadhead friend of mine, I got to see Dead & Company seven or eight times, including multi-night shows at the Hollywood Bowl and their (not quite, as it turned out) final run in San Francisco a couple of years ago. It was always a great joy being immersed in that music and scene…

  • I'm not a big fan of their music, but the loss of such a popular touring act's founding member must be quite a loss indeed.

  • Ah gutted, did a bit of work on the dead and co tours so sad to see this news, they were a lovely crew all round ❤️

Fare thee well, Bob. You will be missed -- and long remembered.

I was lucky enough to have attended the Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers mega-concert at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. It started in the afternoon and ended around midnight. The two bands alternated sessions back and worth until the last session, which was a jamfest with both bands. It was an amazing experience.

    Thanks for weighing in.

In the same way that Jerry Garcia played interesting lead lines, he certainly had a recognizable style from the late 60s onwards as he started finding his way beyond standard structures.

  • Founding member of the Grateful Dead at sixteen, and went on to play to appreciative audiences for the rest of his life. Well done, sir.
    Rest In Peace
