Space Strip by AudioThing (Released on iOS)

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/space-strip/id6754387695

Space Strip is a six-module multi-effect plugin built around simple, flexible routing. The included modules Contour, Vibe, Slapback, Ambience, Ensemble, and Stereo can be arranged in any order using drag and drop. Space Strip focuses on shaping depth, movement, and spatial balance rather than heavy effects. It works particularly well on synthesizers and keyboards, but can also be used on other sound sources where subtle space and character are needed. The plugin is designed to be lightweight and suitable for use across multiple tracks without significant CPU load.

  • Hm, not the most wished for it seems. I feel no need for it either. Producer plugin?

I think most Audiothing fans - including me - prefer the more creative stuff. This is nice, especially on guitar, but not that unique

Is there a similar plugin that mostly focuses on spacial fx? For a while I was more into picking specialized plugins to really build out a unique chain, but role compression goes a long ways for MIDI and audio routing. Especially in hosts with limited plugin slots (looking at you Grooverider 2). I know a lot of guitar amp sims will have some good baked in fx. But if you wanted to set something up like Guitar -> Voltour -> IR Loader -> spatial fx this seems like a good fit.

I do really like their creative effects like Moon Echo and Motor.

Can’t really think offhand, there is Vintage Rack which has a lot more FX built in, but the UI and overall experience is much less elegant imo

  • Both FrostByte 2 and Speakers are pretty creative in imho.

I need to try Speakers out. I got it on sale a while back. Lines and B00GA get opened in a lot of projects but always end up turned off or swapped out. They’re fun to tinker with.

MFX Motto looks to have a lot of overlap with this one. Probably a different flavor though. There was a chiptune focused multi effect that released around the same time as MFX. Looked like a game controller d pad. Can’t remember the name.

  • MFX Motto is cool for sure, actually, yes. The other app you’re thinking of btw is Nostalgia FX by Osc Audio, good sound, I was far from crazy about the UI design from a functional perspective tho: https://apps.apple.com/app/nostalgia-fx/id6749879123

  • My most used Audiothing app is FlipEQ! Super quick and effective.

  • hey guys, is this like a reverb and/or delay fx?

Tremolo, chorus, swift, reverb, stereo fx combo, basically:

Yes, I really like that one also. That and BLEASS Filter.

I think the Vibe is a vibrato rather than a tremolo, that's what it sounds like to my ears anyway.

Yeah my bad, I was sure I remembered that the manual mentioned it was tremolo, but I just checked and it is actually vibrato haha. It's definitely on the subtler side of vibrato tho. I'll add a comment to the YouTube vid clarifying that, I'm normally quite a stickler for the difference between those two 😅

Yeah the two are often confused (maybe even by whoever wrote the manual for this app😅) but I remember you pointing out the difference between them years ago in another video.

Yes haha, I think that was the Vintage Rack video maybe. No this Space Strip manual actually does say vibrato, not sure why I wrongly called it tremolo here 😅

Blame the Fender dude who mixed up tremolo (amplitude) and vibrato (pitch) modulation in the early days and it somehow stuck, there’s plenty of articles about this on the internet :sunglasses:
