And for the sake of the mods’ sanity and my feelings (because it hurts that the original version got moved off the main page so I hope y’all can keep that from happening again here) please read the following from the master of the house who provides this forum as a privilege—not a right—out of his own generosity, which he posted below but which I am affixing here to the OP so you have no excuse:

Just a quick heads-up before things get busy here.As with the original track, this thread is for discussion of the music itself: the remix, production choices, mix, arrangement, and artistic direction.
Political debate about the broader themes or real-world events should be taken to Other if people want to explore that further. Please don’t derail this thread with it.
Thanks all.

Nice to see you working more on this, made me think a community remix event would be fun, if you’s be up for sharing the vocal stems that is…
Good to hear this. I like the loping feel of the drums, kind of like a Dilla beat.

The remix is baller af. Well done you both. ❤️
I’m often happy to do that, but as the content for this one is even more personal and sensitive, I’m gonna have to decline giving up “editorial” for any usage of them by putting the vocal stems out there in this instance. Stay tuned though; like I said, I’m often happy to do it
It’s nice to see his name mentioned anywhere near mine when talking about anything to do with production. I won’t say I was being intentional with it in this case, but I’m happy to see it nonetheless!
Me and Katinkera collab often? Yeah, we made it official as a duo a few songs back (this is our 4th one together if you don’t count remixes.)
Not exactly sure what you mean by the “dueling vox” but don’t mind talking about it if you don’t mind clarifying which part of the track that was for me!
All good! We have our other socials, etc. listed @ http://linktr.ee/bambooink
Thanks again and as always, brother!
You and @Katinkera are welcome. 🙏 I look forward to what else you both will create.
Thanks for allowing this thread to stay so far after I slid in with it after the original got moved. I have added this whole post to the OP so it’s seen by everyone from jump (and hopefully keeps everyone more well behaved this time around 🤞)
@offbrands Ah ok, gotcha, no problem and thanks for clarifying! I’m glad it played normally the second time around, but if it had actually been some weird mixing thing, that wouldn’t have surprised me too knowing that I got a lot more to learn in that department.
But I’m glad you dig it, and appreciate the listens and the love! ❤️🤝
I like that the previous version has more structural breaks with singing parts, but I like the underlying beat in this one better. Both are solid.
Which one are you feeling the most?
Ah man, that’s a tough question kinda like asking me which of my kids I love better. And the cliche answer is always “I love them both equally.” But lemme say that I do love them in different ways. The beat in the remix was fully my production, whereas the OG was a co-production (where most of my hand in the beat was with the drums). But while I had the full creative control on the remix, it wouldn’t even exist without the OG which inspired me to drop the verses I did and to talk about the theme of the the track that is so important to me.
So yeah it’s a toughy to figure out which one I’m feeling the most. But I’m like always proudest in the moment of the latest one. And that’s not any of these, it’s the next one already on deck that only Kat and I and our select inner circle have heard for now. I know, that’s a deflection, (and a tease) lol
Yeah fair point I totally get it ✊
Yezzir 💯. And trust, more’s comin’! Thank you again for the encouragement!
