Help: suddenly audio dropouts - ipados 16.7.12, motu m6

My Loopy Pro setup, which has been stable for more than a year, suddenly can't play back audio without frequent (seconds or less interval, aperiodic) dropouts. Also it is balky launching loopy pro -- sometimes have to re-start the app or re-launch a project to get audio sources to pass signal.

No bluetooth, Siri disabled, no ableton link, just 2 stereo audio inputs to Loopy Pro from the M6, stereo mains out to the M6, and one channel of midi in from the m6 and out to AxeFx III.

Was running perfect yesterday. Did not update any apps or the iPad OS.

Tried re-starting everything more than once already.

I did recently upgrade to Loopy Pro v2, but have been running that more than a week without issue.

Thanks for any tips!

    That is highly unusual.

What buffer size do you see in Loopy Pro’s system settings?

    Is multi-route audio turned on?

What happens if you use Apple Music or GarageBand?

These things more often than not come down to cables or power supplies.

  • Thanks!
Buffersize: it was 128 and having this problem. I increased it to 256 and it didn't help.
No multi route audio is not on.

Apple music ran fine through the m6

I am using a usb-to-lightning adapter with power coming in via lightning. When I disconnected the power cable it was more stable.

This is puzzling. If you use Loopy Pro's default project do you have these problems?

  • I didn't try the default project.

Haven't had the issue again since I quit using the lightning power cable with the camera adapter. That power connection had been flakey -- it makes sense that was screwing with the iPads audio i/o system.

Thanks espiegel123 and wim for the tips!
