I'm often accused of talking out of my onus. Maybe I should look into that surgery option. Does insurance cover that?

“Rich men in positions of power like to bang young girls. What’s so hard to understand about that? I would, too. Even Jimmy Carter said that he had lust in his heart. I believe that he was a decent and honorable man. I voted for him. Bill Clinton liked young girls, too. I voted for him. When he was president, the economy was pretty good. I was making good money and had no complaints. Whatever he did behind the Oval Office didn’t affect my paycheck. The Epstein files are just a distraction. Wake up, dummy!”

    “I would, too”

Not only an apologist, but a wannabe.

You skipped the paragraph above this text that stated:

Warning! The thoughts expressed below are a satirical parody, based on my perception of the prevailing attitudes during the Clinton administration. You may not agree, and it may trigger strong reactions. Viewer discretion is advised.

Satirical Parody means those worlds are NOT the voice of the writer… this is what is typically called: taking words out of context.

I’m impressed that @paulieworld didn’t strike back and escalate into a full food fight. I mean who likes being called a pedophile wannabe for assuming the satirical voice of a Clinton defender writing a “Who cares” apology for Bill’s sexual escapades before, while in office and I would assume after as well… dumping the Epstein files might clarify that assumption.

It is estimated by the women (girls at the time) that 1200 females were trafficked by Epstein. I suspect it was NOT for money but for compromising leverage on powerful men: Prince Andrew, Larry Summers, Bill Clinton, Alan Dershowitz, Woody Allen

It was clumsily edited and re-positioned as “satire”
Make of that what you will.

  • Since July.

  • I always joke about child rape, it's my favorite form of satire.

  • For those that missed it, the “inspiration” for this thread seems to have been a disingenuous proposal (admitted as such by the person who made it) by a single Republican City Council member in Naperville, Ill who believed he was exposing hypocrisy by immigrant-friendly council members. He seemed to think that if someone didn’t want to volunteer to house migrants that they were being hypocritical about welcoming immigrants into the community.

The point I'm trying to make is that there are people who take the moral high ground, but don't actually want to personally do anything about it. I addressed that in my PROPOSAL thread. It is a satirical post that suggests a possible solution and points out the hypocrisy.

    >

There is an affluent suburb named Naperville near me. A few years ago, they had a town meeting. One of the topics was the "immigration issue". They all got together and agreed that "something needed to be done". They all felt pretty good about themselves. At the end of the meeting, someone said... Let's invite them to Naperville.

If you read the article, you will see that Pauline’s summary mischaracterizes the events.

    ———-

I also think it is worth noting that Paulie now calls his proposal “satire” but he previously claimed the point of his post was creating genuine dialog…and he repeatedly coaxed people into sharing their genuine beliefs. Now, he calls it satire.

People reading this thread should be aware that OP significantly altered the original post which leaves a false impression about how the discussion proceeded.

  • I mean I could immediately tell that he was trolling us. Like how messed up do you have to be to do some stupid thing like this with everything going on right now. Some people will just never understand what it's like, and that's fine, but to go to these lengths?

That sea lion comic could have been a script for OP lol

  • Something I enjoy about this other section was getting those on the opposite end of my political spectrum to educate me on how they view the world. Of course, when they do the “good guys” arrive and engage in rigorous (if fruitless in some cases) debate.

I suspect @Paulieworld has been driven from the field. A huge loss (to me) on the musical side of the forum and a lost opportunity to engage in dialogue that effects change. I have a MAGA son-in-law and he shares many views with @Paulieworld
And does the “both sides” arguments that we all tend to do in an attempt to gain some concessions to justify their political views.

I see the MAGA view of women to be a potential weakness that can be leveraged to carve off some independents from their
    Electoral Yield.

I just looked into the “Trump is a dictator” thread and can see how I totally missed the build up that was transferred in full rage into this thread which I read without that context… go figure. We can jump to conclusions when we don’t have the context fora debate.

@McD : “Driven from the field”? It almost sounds like you think that Paulie was a victim.

If someone’s expressed point-of-view is riddled with falsehoods and bigotry, are you proposing that it should be allowed to stand without comment?

You wrote ““ a lost opportunity to engage in dialogue that effects change”?

There were primarily good faith attempts to engage him in dialog .

No. I’m just sad that @Paulieworld tried to defend his political views which I do find reprehensible and was effectively confronted to the point that he is disengaging from the musical side of this wonderful community.

Looking over the relevant threads makes it clear he doubled down out on many views that are extensions of what we read/hear from the most devious members of Trump’s regime.

Without due process they intend to eliminate something on the order of 18-100 million humans from US… that 100M level of arrest, detention and disposal would cover non-whites and any that oppose Federal power: in other words, plan accordingly for a personal survival plan if you have issues with extreme MAGA as a political force.

    100M?

Isn't that neary 1/3 of the US population?

Yes. It’s a number I saw mentioned and I had the same reaction: that’s just insane. But even a few million “arrests” will create unintended consequences most likely in economic stats that tariffs probably won’t mitigate.

Sometime this year the sheer number of people in detention will turn more MAGA folks against this administration because most of us are just not that cruel.

  • That won't happen without triggering a civil war, but then again, the world let Hitler kill millions of Jews. It wasn't until he started invading other countries that they actually tried saving Jews.

Let's play a hypothetical scenario. Let's say that all minorities have been eliminated and only magats are left. They will still find a way to hate something about the remaining magats. Never forget that white Americans at some point considered Irish people not white.

I think Hitler invaded other countries long before he started killing millions of Jews.

I don’t doubt that both of them being white tax paying contributors to society definitely pushed the needle.

I don’t think speaking in absolutes and saying “nobody would give a crap” is true or helps anything.

Plenty of people would care, my puerto rican ass included.

Would it change anything this quickly? We can’t know on this timeline.

What I think really changed the narrative was the legally armed man who never removed or brandished his weapon provable in multiple angle videos showcasing him practicing two of our amendments lawfully,

He, after asking “are you okay” to that woman being pepper sprayed while he himself was being pepper sprayed, was than pinned down by several agents, then another agent comes out of nowhere to remove the weapon, then the agent who removed the weapon was several steps walking away the other direction and then and only then did the first agent shot him followed by 9 more shots last I read.

You can fuck with a lot of things in the US, except the 2nd amendment. If he wasn’t fired and if some changes didn’t happen right away, you’d have a bunch of actual twitchy trigger happy gun touting people questioning when they’re next more so than they already do.

It was too public, too many angles of clear video, too good of a person, white or not, that it happened to. May he RIP. Fucking tragedy. Beyond words.

Non-citizen immigrants are also tax-paying contributors, I don't know why you felt the need to mention that. And trust me, if it had been a peaceful black guy with legal access to a firearm the media would playing a completely different tune.

Brown citizens are being abducted every day and you've got 30+ deaths in ICE concentration camps and nobody has given a crap about that. This was a big fucking deal because it was a white VA nurse, good guy with a gun.

When the Black Panthers started carrying in the 60s and 70s the US considered ammending 2A because they didn't want minorities having the same access to guns.

I never implied that taxes arent being paid by non citizens immigrants. Huge reason why tax
Id numbers were invented. I’m well aware.

I’m on your side about all of this and agree with most of what your saying, but this is the lefts problem. In fighting, bad assumptions, and arguing about fucking semantics. It’s fucking pathetic and gets us nowhere.

Gav is right there really isn’t anything to be gained from these conversations on this section.

    Wish you well.

Thanks. I just want justice for the children being held up in those inhumane detention centers.

  • Why the fuck can't you fucking motherfuckers just fucking type your fucking comments without fucking using the fucking word "fuck" all the time? WTF! It's fucking fucked up, and makes you fucking look like you can't fucking express yourself like a fucking adult. Honestly I’m more offended by a beloved music community having prominent members who support right wing ideologies than any F bombs.
