I myself, assumed the demotion of the Greg Bovino from a reputable news source meant that this issue of a citizen practicing our second amendment rights were at minimum going to be an issue.

It seems as though letting my guard down to the general fact that trump will fuck over anyone applies to even people who assumed that this line was uncrossable. Myself included. Can say this is the first surprise i’ve had from this administration, or him in general, will be the last time. I understand now that there isn’t one line they won’t cross.

    This should concern all americans.

  • Myself and many others have asked about what really happened in New York on 9/11.
It was a carefully planned, political strategy by the far right. It worked. They got a "justified" war.

I have asked many times, why did our "leaders" fail to change immigration laws when they had opportunity and the VOTES?
Again, the answer is simple. It was carefully planned, political strategy by the far left. It worked. They got organized chaos.

I had a paranoid delusion in the 90’s… I could take a few facts and use them as a justification for a larger plot to change the leadership at my children’s school. The opposing group was a deeply religious collection of parents that were convinced the school was indoctrinating the children with a Satanic purpose. The belief in Satanic influence was actually one of the facts since their leader had left a town 10 miles away after creating a public furor over Satan in the Schools. I believe she was driven out due to her deep gelt views and how no one was safe if she believed they opposed her mission to combat Satan.

So, she move to our town and let convinced fellow parents be the public voice. In a few weeks they isolated a male teacher and started the rumors that he was grooming children.

Anyway, there were good people on both sides simply living out their own truth. If you had a dog in the race the villains were obvious but if you could step back and view the interaction with a complete context it approaches Greek tradgedy as some people were really damaged: like the school Principle. She was a saint or a demon depending on what you wanted as an outcome.

Anyway, under the care of a psychiatrist that over medicated me I had this delusion that earned me a 5150 and a couple weeks in a facility. The drug prescribed at some alarming levels I later learned was amphetamine: which made me really productive at writing but after a few weeks of 2-3 hours or intermittent sleep I went deep into the danger my children were in because I became a target for the opposition and put a handful of facts into a conspriracy where the God driven leader and the principle were coordinating to drive people into putting their children in private religious schools and seeking the government to give them vouchers to do so….

    Good times.

What I see happening here is a good person with deeply held views that inform his view of politics confronting people that he now views as being incapable of comprehending the reality that is core to his being.

Greek tragedy is really the only way to view it… from a comfortable chair in the amphitheater.

That psychiatrist moved out of state and lost his license after over medicating a patient with a list of 20 contra-indicated medicines as pretty high doses. I have a PDF that Google provided me as a detail on what that doctor did after changing my life significantly. This doctor worked in practice that was led by Doctor Daniel Amen who wrote the book about his ability to locate the human soul by reading PET scans… the type of scan that requires a radioactive substance to improve the imaging details. Quack or prophet? I have a strong opinion.

Too bad we can’t learn more here… but I understand when the debate escalates and you end up being defensive. I recall being at a women’s event in 1974 that my first wife took me to because she had an aunt that invited her.

I made a few comments that quickly escalated me to defending Playboy Magazine and “rape culture”.
“I just liked the articles”. I held my ground and my wife snuck me out of the room because I wouldn’t concede that pictures of naked women might create a generation of rapists. In retrospect, I can see their point since
Rape is rarely treated as a crime.

  • Someone keeps saying that immigration laws needed to be changed after 2020 and that failure to do so amounted to some sort of far left conspiracy.

I see a few problems with that:

    • there are exceedingly few people that could be considered far-left in the congress.
    • it isn't obvious that there was an immigration problem that needed solving.
    • the Democrats tried to pass legislations. They actually caved to Republican demands for reforming immigration laws -- and the Republicans chose not to vote yes on laws that were essentially what the GOP had previously proposed. The GOP was quite open about the fact that (just as when Obama was president), they wanted to deny any possibility for the Democratic president to have a win on a popular issue. This isn't conspiracy stuff, they were pretty open about it.

Also, just because immigration polled well as a policy concern doesn't mean that the concern was legitimate. Civil rights didn't poll well either prior to passage of the civil rights act.

@Simon "Who" is the wrong word. Dwight Eisenhower referred to "it" as the Military/Industrial Complex.
It isn't Democrat. It isn't Republican. It likes war. It loves war. War is extremely expensive and profitable.
They have a "big board". (Dr. Strangelove)

JFK once made a "satirical" call for Global Disarmament and Peace. Something he could never do by himself. He also had a plan to withdraw all of our "advisors" from Viet Nam by the end of 1965. That was something he could actually do by himself. It didn't sit well. The MIC literally blew his brains out for it. That also sent a strong message to LBJ and all that followed.

9/11. There are plenty of religious fanatics, eager to die for their God. With a little flight training, and a few strategically placed shaped charges, the towers came down on live television. The media jumped in and set off a firestorm of anger among Americans. I remember hearing normally reasonable, logical adults saying things like, "Bomb those towelheads back to the Stone Age". End result: a justified war that everybody could get on board with.

Whoever controls the media (MIC?) controls the public opinion. As long as Democrats and Republicans are fighting with each other over little details (he said this, she said that, Trump is an asshole, etc.), everything is cool. Nowadays, it is referred to as the "deep state". If you believe in it you are clearly paranoid and delusional.

Regarding your last question... use your imagination.

    In their own words.

It is important to understand that the Trump administration wants political violence. They are going about their business in such a way as to provoke violence. They then use the pushback against their violenve to prove to the MAGA faithful that more brutality is needed:

And then they will lie to the press that we were not being provocative.

  • Yup. Trump and his people really have no bottom when it comes to shameless behavior:

"President Barack Obama's administration viewed Tom Homan as an effective, professional career law enforcement official, culminating in Obama honoring him with a Presidential Rank Award for Distinguished Service in 2015."

We can go back and forth like this, ad infinitum (that means forever).

  • What people said about Homan in 2015 is not relevant to current history. What he is saying and doing now is what matters. His recent rhetoric and actions speak for themselves.

Do you mean that no matter what current facts someone posts, you can find something irrelevant to the current situation to post?

Once upon a time, you claimed that conversation and clarifying views was a good thing.

I fail to see how your post about what someone said about Homan 11 years ago is relevant in light of his current actions and statements.

  • The policies of DHS are intended to intimidate us. The myth that only people here illegally need worry is lie. There are many stories like this:

If someone argues “we could go at this ad nauseum”, it speaks only to the inhumanity of the DHS’ approach. Yes, there are many many examples. More than one can post.

If one thinks intimidation and violation of people’s rights and humanity is a reasonable solution to a perceived problem, please explain your reasoning. What is the problem that demands such cruelty?

If you think of yourself as a Christian and support these tactics, explain how you reconcile that with the teachings of Jesus — who believed that everyone should be treated with respect and love.

  • @espiegel123 Today has been slow, so I can take a few minutes to respond.

When I was in high school, we had something called "Debate". It was like non-contact sports for nerds. We didn't use footballs or baseballs. We used words and ideas. It was very competitive. We would get a topic, do research, then argue pro and con positions. It wasn't necessary to agree with your assigned position. It was only necessary to make a good argument, and point out the weakness of the opposition. My first topic was "Abortion". As a 17 year old boy, I didn't have much experience in that. However, that didn't stop me from debating. I was arguing the pro position. I wouldn't argue that today... but I probably would if I found it entertaining to piss off the opposition.

I doubt if that is taught in high school today. I don't think they are even teaching reading or math. In the Chicago public schools, only 15-20% of kids are performing at grade level. They know all about sex and politics, but couldn't write a letter, or do simple math if their lives depended on it. The perfect citizen for the New World Order. Easily manipulated and controlled.

I am interested in hearing any proposals that provide for those things.

I think the best way to care for people who need it is through privately funded, compassionate people, getting together and deciding to do good. Keep the government out of it.

I think regular people, with their own money and time, and with private donations, doing good for others because they have a passion to do that, is a good is a good place to start.

I will not weigh in on immigration politics. I can't find anywhere in the original post where that was requested.
