  • I've yet to get any of his synths, but this one looks interesting. Anyone already spring for it, and if so what are your impressions?

I really like the ones I have (VAPolyWest, VAPoly16, and this one). This one has a really cool sequence where you set level and gate amount per step. Nice layout on iPhone, though some menu items took a few taps to register.

Like all Ryo Togawa apps, it sounds like a million bucks. Unlike many of his apps, I was able to grok the UI quickly. The sound is very warm and lush, the sequencer is fun, the EFX sound great, especially the reverb. An absolute steal at $6 US. One note is that it does not at this time include a Mac version, which many of his other plugins do. I hope that’s coming in a future version.

ETA: super-cool visualizers, great accent feature on the VCF, 5(!) LFOs. The sequencer has surprising depth. This one is special.

  • Are there any random/probability options in the sequencer for this one? Skimmed the manual but couldn’t see anything, maybe even different step lengths for different parameters would add life to programmed sequences…

  • I’m sure they’re all brilliant, but these Ryo Togawa synths could really do with a dedicated thread which lists them all and describes each one’s unique features/approach compared to the others. I’m a bit lost as to which does what to be honest.

This would be helpful, it has always seemed to me that differences among several were very slight
