Yes! I would love another insight into your Koala workflow! And please be involved here in this thread! I truly appreciate the sonic explorations you have done.
Thanks so much!! It means a lot!! I will do my best as soon as work and family allow!!!
)
Thanks very much!
I sent everything through Eventide Blackhole in AUM.
No other fx.
I need to catch up with you guys. Will do. @stown maybe Pattering 3 would be to your liking. You can load up a bunch of samples in different lenghts, and playback them as you wish. On top of that you can manipulate the samples in a different ways.
I made two new Noise tracks, will upload them sometime soon.
But the fun of making one and during one is .. oh boy, great!
even if the effect is repetive

I was feeling burnt out on music creation due to Jamuary taking it out of me, but after listening to the pieces in this thread, I'm inspired to make noise music in AUM with Koala! This will be a fun experiment, and I will post my results here and a lengthy explanation soon!

So, here's the lengthy explanation as to how I made this piece. I used Bleass Monolit as the source of all three noise recordings (the low, the mid, and the high). I used various Bleass apps while recording the noise into Koala to process the noise in exciting and interesting ways. That radio static for instance is not Audiothing's Noises. It's me taking white noise, running it through Monolit's bandpass filter, turning up the drive knob in Monolit's filter section, adding Bleass Saturator, turning down the low and the high bands and turning up the mids, hard clipping it, and running that through Bleass Saturator's bitcrushing and sample rate reduction module.
The high noise iirc was ran through Monolit's highpass filter, drive up, and ran through Bleass' Dragonfly. I think I used Bleass Saturator on the low noise as well, but different settings to the mid noise (aka the "radio static"). The low noise was ran through Monolit's lowpass filter. (Monolit's singular filter has several modes.)
Anyways, after sampling the recordings into Koala and setting the loops with very short crossfades, I routed each noise to its own buss in Koala's buss mixer so I could play with the faders live. I followed Koala with Eventide's MangledVerb and Blackhole. Then I slapped Taip on there for a bit of drive and extra tape noise.
I mastered the piece in Cubasis 3 with Bark Filter, Cubasis' Brickwall, and Youlean's Loudness Meter. I wanted the "wall of sound" effect.
I think the takeaway for me is that noise music is all about experimenting with effects to see how one can sculpt said white noise, using effects even moreso than in my standard Ambient fare. I really enjoyed the process of making this piece.
This is excellent 👌
Thank you ☺️
Four track drone. Done using only the mixer in koala sampler. 4 sine test tones and all the effects I could fit in.
Here is a Basinski inspired piece I recorded last Sunday during the ice storm. Made using AUM, Decent Sampler with Rist - Distressed Piano and Worn Organ.
