Noises and robot are Musyc2. Added some filters in LumaFusion and cut it up in BeatCut.

  • I put my headphones on to listen to this but didn't get any sound. LOL. I take it this is a visual only. Okay, cool.

  • Not to worry Fizzy, I can hear the short piece just fine. Sounds great. Just wish the piece was a little longer. ❤️ All the best, and can't wait to hear more from you.

You must have amazing ears because I honestly didn't hear a thing. I checked my audio. Nothing is muted and everything else plays loud and clear. I don't get it.

  • Okay, I turned my volume knob all the way to max and now I can hear it. It's just very soft, that's all. Anyway, sounds cool.

Hehe, I wasn't born with super sensitive hearing for nothing. ;) I used my airpods pro (with noise cancelation on) and had to turn them up a bit. I will say Fizzy's track could do with a little touch of mastering, even if using Logic for the Mastering Assistant. These days I usually master my tracks to -8 LuFS, which is above the suggested limit of -14 LuFS. It's not a loudness war thing either (as there are those who master their music way above -8 LuFS) but rather making sure things sound "glued". But, even -14 LuFS is a decent audible volume. :)

    All the best to you.

  • Definitely is more “capturing virtual noise” than anything. I’ll try to get something a little more musical going next time.

I’ve been capturing sounds like this a lot lately. What I’ve been doing is setting up a sequencer with multiple outs to a few different tracks in AUM. This one was Mysyc2 (that robot character is the sequencer) but something like Fugue Machine works. Put Ambiente on each track, stage the instruments, and route the outputs to a main bus. Add FAC Alteza to that one, route the reverb tail from the multi-out back into Ambiente and capture that. You get this weird reverb space in front of your instrument. It’s convoluted and makes my iPad very angry from how hard the CPU is going.

Ultimately I was too afraid of pops happening while screen recording so I went too quiet and safe. Next time I should record in portrait as well for a better BeatCut edit. This turned out as a very weird experiment if anything.

  • Here’s an updated, non-clipped screen grab that I ran through Logic Pro mastering like @jwmmakerofmusic suggested. @wagtunes you probably don’t need to strain as hard to hear this one.

Poor guy sounds like a lawnmower by the end. I could see this being in a cave level for a video game. Especially if I got a more creaky sound instead of “playing card on bike wheels”.

Yes, very quiet, as @wagtunes said! You can adjust audio levels in Lumafusion easily btw when processing there @FizzyLizzy27. You could also add a limiter during the AUM stage to prevent clipping, that would be another possible option. Do you know btw you can also load AUv3 in Lumafusion? I often end up using Barricade in there to check lufs and make some adjustments to screen recorded audio, very handy.

  • Quiet, but still easily audible. Interesting piece.
