What a project Wags! Favourite so far: Murder She Wrote. Also, I like this series very much. And I find your vocals and lyrics very authentic. Cheers, frenq

PS: If you ever go on tour in Europe, I don't care how old I am by then, I'll join! B)

As much as I'd love to go, I don't travel. But thanks for the invite.

Really interesting song. It has a catchy melody and also something different that I can’t explain.

That something different that you can't explain is why they call them Wagtunes. It's my special kind of quirky.

Thanks for the listen and the kind words. They're much appreciated.

  • For you 80s fans.

  • Well, after a month here, I am leaving this forum. It's the same here as everywhere else. Not that I expected anything different. You listen to and comment on everyone's songs and maybe 1 or 2 people listen to your music. It's predictable and tiresome.

There's a few cool people here and I'm gonna miss them.

Too bad this forum doesn't have thread management tools because I'd love to just lock this thing up.

Take care all. I'd love to say it's been fun.

  • Hi Wags, sorry to hear you're leaving, friend

  • For anyone who cares, something a little different from me.

This is very good btw! Really catchy pop track with full on fun 80s vibe.

    The night has eyes

A sensitive text Wags, otherwise a beautiful composition, reminds me of something but my old brain just can't place it right now. If you have a melody or something similar, tinker a bit with the formants and set the horns slightly out of tune and download and use Magic7 reverb on the sax and horns. Magic7 is a free M7 reverb that you can really mess around with. But just a great song, listened to it with pleasure. frenq

Thanks for the suggestions. As for what you can't place, I styled the song after The Temptations "Papa Was A Rolling Stone." Go give it a listen and you'll hear the similarity as far as style.

  • Well, I tried to get M7 but I can't get the site to log me in after creating account. No email sent. No download link. Oh well.

  • Wags, I meant Melodyne by Celemony (no melody), with that you can adjust formants and pitch, bring them down a bit for sax and horns and use the m7, then it can sound a bit more natural. As for the Temptations, damn yes, that's the song I meant! frenq

Okay, I finally got it to work. I replaced my old reverb with Magic 7 on the sax and horns and fiddled with it a bit until I got something I liked. Tell me if this is better, worse, or no difference.

  • I think the horns and sax sound better this way, Wags. If you could also adjust the formants, pitch, and vibrato a bit, it would be even better. And if you had an EWI or another MPE device, you could also blow and phrase it. But that's a whole different story. Well done so far!

Well, I don't own Melodyne and I really don't want to spend the money on it so it's going to have to stay the way it is.

Take care all. I'd love to say it's been fun.

The thing is, when a person posts a lot of music at once, it's hard for others to keep up. I frequently post music here too, and sometimes people will miss a piece or two. I didn't expect people to keep up with my Jamuary thread, especially since I created 35 pieces in 26 days for the challenge. 😅 But I applaud those who managed to keep up.

I get it. And I know this thread can be overwhelming. And that's a big part of the problem. It's like a self fulfilling prophecy. Oh well, not gonna sweat it anymore. I'm done posting music but I'll listen to what I can. I do try to support others because I know what it's like to have your efforts go unnoticed.

That's nice of you, mate. ❤️ Glad you're sticking around. :)

Something I came to realize. People in music forum are your peers. What you are looking for is fans. Maybe you should look for those instead. How do you find fans ? I would have to find them first. 🙂

I had a listen to your 80s tune and it was fun and made me smile.

Hey, thanks for the listen. I really appreciate it. I know what you mean about fans. But can't our peers be fans? Some of the people here make really good stuff, like Frenq and JWM and I look forward to hearing their stuff.

Oh well, maybe I'm just weird.

  • This one I had to share.

A pop brass arrangement the way it should be done but was always too damn lazy to do it.

  • Wagtunes does the Bee Gees. LOL

  • I just found this today. Just me singing and a piano.
