    It’s close but I’ve heard they did not 100% nail the Juno chorus although it’s capable of Juno tones and a lot more. I’m somewhat fixed with Juno’s so will buy it.

    All Junos are not equal and certainly not all clones. The DeepMind was more of a Juno 106 clone, but not so close. The JN-80 is aiming for the earlier Juno 60 which sounds a little different to the 106, my opinion of 60 vs 106 would say slightly beefier. (I have a JX3P same filter chip as the 106, and I found a 60 for a friend way back.)

    Personally, for the Roland’s I’d go with JX3P with the PG200 programmer but the JN-80 has unison modes which should be quite a bonus vs the original. (Why of why does U-KNO-LX ?? not support 2 voices as a unison option?)

    I used to use a HS60, which is a pig ugly juno 106 with built in speakers! I must admit I prefered the later DW8000 and the Roland Super JX back then. My friends Juno 60 sounded a bit better than the HS60 through the amp we used imo. That was back when they were new though, Ive achtually never heard or played any of the old analogs in the flesh today!

    edit: I just saw recently that they’ve released the 10 year “anniversary editions” of the DM line; Deepmind 6 X, and Deepmind 12 X.

    A quick scan through the features doesn’t show anything new as far as the actual synth, but does have some new colors on the front panel, and from what I’ve read, new cheeks. (FWIW, my original already has some nice cherry (?) wooden cheeks)

    Apparently, they bumped it up a couple hundred bucks as well, just for these simple cosmetic changes.
