I think you are correct.
NeuM admires Trump because...
NeuM: "The best thing about Trump’s presidency? The fact that he can drive his detractors absolutely crazy by saying something they don’t like. It’s quite a show."
And so he's trying to emulate his hero and "put on a show" and drive people crazy right here with the things he says.
Meanwhile, his buddy Paulie thinks he's part of some 1960s right wing, Saturday morning TV tag-team wrestling match.
It is kind of sad, pathetic and annoying, all at the same time.
I’ve said it a million times, people have to be out of their mind to want to waste time discussing politics with NeuM and his ilk. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing again and again but expecting different results. Do better things with your time people, life is too fkn short!
It's definitely quite a show.
They are just words on an internet forum that you don't agree with. Your reaction is your choice.
I think the tag team wrestling analogy is accurate.
Ironically, I can say the same thing.
Do you remember Angelo Poffo? He was from my home town! He had two sons, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and “The Genius” Lanny Poffo. I drove by their house a few weeks ago. Who can forget Vern Gagne and Dyna Power? Me and my buddies would go out in the back yard and practice body slams and the infamous figure-4 leg lock. Those really hurt!
If you want to see something interesting weigh in on Ukraine and Putin.
Trump fans love Putin because he supports Christianity... While he controls t the Russian Orthodox Church just as he does media and the press. Tuckee Carlson pushes this narrative too: pointing out Zelensky closed some Russian Orthodox churches and is this anti-christian.
If you can watch the movie "Mr Jones" which clearly explains why there is a huge antipathy to Russian rule over Ukraine in the Stalin era when her took the Ukrainian harvest and millions of Ukrainians starved to death.
I went to college with a student who's father immigrated from Ukrain
And he planted the seed in me that Ukrainians want and have worked for freedom for generations.
I think Trump is following Putin's playbook but he's too old to pull it off. But he's going for total control.
I'll take @NeuM's response and then decide if I just need to use the Ignore feature because it's a great way to get some grace back after attempting to find some common ground on anything.
I won't lump @Paulieworld in a faction with @Neum because I'm sure they would not agree on a lot of Geo-politics. I have a son-in-law that could have written any of the @Paulieworld comments.
They both have a contempt for Government and see Trump's routing mg Libs as a win: he gets shit done that they want to see addressed.
My daughter is farther left than I am and this 2nd Civil breakdown will end their marriage if they can't agree to disagree.
"Trump fans love Putin"... LOL. I don't know who you've been talking to, but I don't love Putin.
Russia is a hostile power that actively works to undermine the United States, yet Trump treats Putin with admiration. Which is insane... Russia interferes in U.S. elections, launches cyber-attacks, threatens NATO allies, and supports regimes hostile to American interests, yet Trump publicly praises Putin and even rejected the findings of his own intelligence agencies and took Putin's word instead. Which is insane... And dangerous to the American people. But his supporters create excuses to mask this insanity. What crazy times we live in. And its left to the supposed 'radical left' (everyone else?) to highlight this even though aren't the radical left red commies who support the Russians? Bonkers.
@McD I just read a review of Mr. Jones. It sounds like a good movie. I will see if I can find it on our provider. My wife and I love to go to the movies. We like the early matinees. We don't travel anymore, and they are like mini vacations. Hollywood Boulevard serves decent comfort food, a full bar, and we get home before dark. Have you ever seen "The Kings Speech"?
I don't understand why people would think that Trump is Putin's puppet. Trump was already a rich, powerful billionaire. I can't think of anything that Putin could offer that he doesn't already have. He is now the President of the United States, so I don't think power is the motivating force. That's just my opinion, which doesn't seem to carry much weight around here.
Years ago, I played in a Ukrainian/American band called "Akyla". We were young and rarely discussed politics. We had much more important things to talk about. When the band dissolved, they morphed into "Vesely Chasy" and are still around today in Chicago. They are wildly popular in the Ukrainian community. They even got a cameo appearance in Michael Keaton's movie "My Life". If you search for "wedding scene", you can see them. I remember playing dozens of Ukrainian weddings and they were all exactly like that!
Yah, I don't get the Trump=Putin puppet either. Seems like a hold out of the Russian Collusion thing that was disproved?
Investigations by both Special Counsel Robert Mueller and the Senate Intelligence Committee found that the 2016 Trump campaign had numerous links and frequent contacts with individuals connected to the Russian government.
While these investigations did not find sufficient evidence to charge campaign members with a criminal conspiracy or "coordination" with Russia's election interference, they detailed a pattern of interactions that posed significant counterintelligence risks.
Key Evidence of Contact
The following instances are the most widely cited examples of contact between the campaign and Russian-linked actors:
* **The Trump Tower Meeting (June 2016): Donald Trump Jr., Paul Manafort, and Jared Kushner met with a Russian lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, after being promised "dirt" on Hillary Clinton that was described as part of the Russian government’s support for Trump.
* Paul Manafort and Konstantin Kilimnik: The Senate Intelligence Committee report identified Kilimnik as a Russian intelligence officer. Manafort, the campaign chairman, shared internal campaign polling data with Kilimnik and discussed campaign strategy with him on multiple occasions.
* George Papadopoulos: A foreign policy advisor who was told by a Maltese professor (Joseph Mifsud) that the Russians had "dirt" on Clinton in the form of thousands of emails. Papadopoulos later pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about the timing of these contacts.
* Michael Flynn: The incoming National Security Advisor held secret conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak regarding U.S. sanctions against Russia. He later pleaded guilty to lying to federal investigators about these calls.
* Roger Stone and WikiLeaks: Investigators found that Stone, a long-time Trump associate, sought information about upcoming WikiLeaks releases of hacked Democratic emails and communicated his findings to senior campaign officials.
Major Investigative Findings
| Investigation | Key Conclusion on Campaign Contacts |
|---|---|
| Mueller Report | Identified "numerous links" between the Russian government and the campaign. It found the campaign expected to benefit from Russian interference but did not establish a criminal conspiracy. |
| Senate Intelligence Committee | Described the campaign's interactions with Russian intelligence as a "grave counterintelligence threat." It went further than Mueller in explicitly labeling Konstantin Kilimnik a Russian intelligence officer. |
Convictions Related to Contacts
Several campaign associates were convicted or pleaded guilty to crimes involving their contacts with Russia or their subsequent efforts to hide them:
* Michael Cohen: Pleaded guilty to lying to Congress about the timeline for a "Trump Tower Moscow" project that was being negotiated during the 2016 campaign.
* Rick Gates: A deputy campaign manager who pleaded guilty to conspiracy and making false statements.
* Paul Manafort: Convicted of various financial crimes and later pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges related to his work in Ukraine and his interactions with Kilimnik.
Excellent work!
Definitely anything but a 100% exonerated. The investigation supports the idea that Russia was trying to interfere, that Trump’s campaign had contacts with people linked to Russian intelligence, and that it expected to benefit from such interference.

Irregardless of that, Trump’s terms have proven all by themselves that Trump has, at best, been a useful idiot for Putin.

So there's two things here. First, I think all Nazis deserve to be punched in the face. You shouldn't give Nazis and fascists an inch. Second, I fully support Neum's right to say whatever dumb thing he wants to believe, and I don't have to engage with him. That's what we were sold with this country, the apparent 'freedom of speech', and freedom in general.
The problem is that Trump and the right don't actually believe in freedom. They don't want trans people to exist, they don't want to allow people to say that Palestinians should not be bombed out of existence, they don't want women to have rights. They don't want people to criticize dear leader. They don't want to reciprocate that freedom.
You hang in there… the latest clue is that Trump and Russia are negotiating terms for an end to the Ukranian “military exercise” that has commitments to Trillions of dollars in US/Russian investments. That’s why Jared Kushner got involved in the negotiations… to carve out this business angle to the “Peace Initiative”. A similar pattern to the planning for re-building Gaza and capitalize on that Mediterranean Sea shoreline. This will create great opportunities for Palestinians in service roles at these new resort projects with world class 36-hole golf courses. Dream on you fools… the world is NOT for sale.

Paulie is that goddamn horse in Animal Farm.
When I was young and single, the girls would say...
"Paulie is an animal!"
"He's like a horse!"
4 legs good, three legs... ooh la la!
Well, that explains the lack of blood flow to the brain.
LOL. That’s the spirit! Good one.
I hope more people are seeing the bottleneck in the ICE scheme… they disappear a million and store them in warehouses indefinitely with no plans for “deportation”… just a new private prison sector that returns billions to Trump’s top supporters from the world of human incarceration. It eliminates that nasty “justice” phase before and after jail.
I think sunlight will fix this and create a “Trump-Epstein Class” that ruins the political lives of those that get tarred with this crime against humanity worthy of Stalin’s creation of the Gulag system. Unchecked it leads to rounding up political prisoners… we will be the final “check” to re-balance the system.
Everything Trump touches dies and often in great torment… the details are in the redacted portions of the Epstein files.

Speaking of the Trump-Epstein class…

Good luck,
Have fun,
Don’t die.
Are you bidding us adieu?
I think I’ll stick around for a while. There is still some poking to be done. I’ve also been hearing a lot of great new creations, and I like to support the creators with encouragement. Regarding my own stuff, I seem to just do the same thing over and over and it’s becoming monotonous. I’m hoping that with warmer weather, I can start sitting outside again and maybe something will come to me. Maybe StaffPad. I’m sure that I can just crank something out, but it’s a bit intimidating to try to compete with people that know what they’re doing. Especially with just an iPad. I made a.promise to myself that I would only use that and headphones. I suppose I could buy a high end Mac and drop a small fortune on libraries, but without a new approach to the process, it would just be more of the same. Blah blah blah. StaffPad seems up to the task. The instruments sound realistic, especially when you have a lot playing together.
I’ve found many articles online discussing how the masters went about composing. I just learned that Scriabin injured his right hand, and that his music favored the left hand. Who knew? I found an incredibly talented pianist that analyzes musical scores and shows how to recognize repeating patterns. That might be a direction worth following. Not so much inspired composing, but more of an assembly process.
In the meantime, I’ve been revisiting my old stuff, and trying to make some improvements. I seem to have attracted a very small, but regular group of people that like my stuff. It’s nothing like playing for a live audience, but it’s not half bad. In the past, I always played other people’s music. Now I love doing my own thing. It may be strange and weird, but I can say… yeah, I came up with that all by myself.
I recommend the movie. I would say that it’s a dystopian future, but it’s actually pretty close to current reality. Especially regarding cell phones. When we walked out, everyone in the lobby was glued to their devices. I just had to laugh… oh boy.
