JWM - First M3 iPad Air Ambient (Ambient, obviously, done in AUM with Koala)

This was my first foray into live recorded Ambient on my 13" M3 iPad Air with 1TB storage. I used AUM to record things into Koala Sampler and used Koala Sampler for the live playback. Here's what I recorded...

-The "music box" you first hear is from the Marseille (Korg Gadget) AUv3. I recorded some random notes in D Dorian into Koala and pitched it down by an octave.

-The soft piano is Steinberg's Verve (one of the recently released piano plugins). Again, I recorded some random D Dorian notes into Koala and pitched that down an octave.

-The drone is from the J6 synth @analogmatthew released. I recorded a long note into Koala and used crossfade loop points for a seamless loop.

The reverb I used after Koala is Neonverb, and I used Taip to glue things together and give the overall recording an "old school Ambient" feel. Mastered in Cubasis with the usual shit - Bark Filter, Cubasis' Brickwall, and Youlean's Loudness Meter.

I swear, Neonverb was definitely built for the Ambient producer. I really don't need to have IR importing for this one as the included IRs are solid enough to get the job done.

    That first note almost blew me out of my chair. LOL. Wow, that's some high pitch and my ears are very sensitive. Anyway, really cool track. Love the way it evolves. And of course the production is excellent.

    Lol! Glad you liked it mate, even if the first note was jarring. ❤️ Then again I wanted to jar the listener a little out of their comfort zone.

    Glad you love it, mate. :) I really love making Ambient in AUM, and I find the extra screen realestate on the 13" M3 Air to be perfect for live Ambient sessions.
