Questions about MIDI Guitar 2 and Loopy Pro
I'd like to use MIDI Guitar 2 with Loopy Pro and use AuV3 plugin sounds in MIDI Guitar 2, which I believe means that I cannot use MIDI Guitar 2 as AuV3 plugin within host/Loopy Pro.
In this case, is the best way to approach this to use MIDI Guitar 2 as an Inter-App-Audio app and route it into Loopy Pro?
I tried to do this, and started MIDI Guitar 2 standalone on the iPad, then from within Loopy Pro, tried to "Add Inter-App Audio Input" from the mixer, but don't see MIDI Guitar 2 as an option
Anyone have any experience/suggestions to help
Thanks

The usual way to use MG2 in a host is to send MIDI from the MG2 plugin instance to other plugins in the host. I can't think of any reason for hosting the plugins in the standalone/IAA instance of MG2.
Send the midi from MG to another auv3, all hosted in loopy pro. This is a video I made with that configuration

@wim and @wagdog, thanks very much! This makes sense and will help me figure this out, will look into this more soon!
Any thoughts on MG2 or MG3 and which I should focus my time on at this point, or why/when to use one vs the other at this point (independent of cost considerations).
Now with cost considerations, any other thoughts?
Thanks very much!
Thanks @espiegel123, I'll have to find a better way to find information such as this, as multiple searches didn't find this wiki page, which looks great, thanks! Any thoughts on MG2 vs 3 Q, above (w/in LP context)? Thanks
Sorry @danm, I don't have any input on MG2 vs. MG3. I don't use either of them.
If MG3 is going to be a separate purchase rather than a free upgrade, I know what I'd do ...
The set up for MG2 and 3 is the same.
When looking for information I would search the manual and the wiki directly before using Google.
Google listed the wiki page as the top result for “ loopy pro midi guitar”
@espiegel123...Sounds like you are saying not to use the search box in the actual forum, which is what I typically use and I think what most forum users would expect to provide high quality search results
Thanks @wim!
The forum search only searches the forum. It doesn’t search the wiki or the manual
I see. I think the community would benefit a lot from a pinned post or similar with some brief, targeted guidance on your recommendations on searching
@danm I don’t know whether 2 or 3 is better at the moment. 3 is available free on TestFlight https://testflight.apple.com/join/ek647PM6
I can see that NAM profiles are available to be loaded (or planned) in 3, which might be an interesting development.
MG2 and 3 are the same price. 3 is technically in beta, but works well and has more features. I use 3 and it’s rock solid. I like that 3 has MPE.
Thanks @wagdog and @FizzyLizzy27!
Hi, i have tried to break apart wagdogs template to setup my iwn patch changes and Im stuck.
I’ve been screwing around with the this for so long I would pay someone to walk me through, step by step how to have widget buttons set up to activate MG2 patches. Any takers.
Im an absolute looper pro newbee and spinning my wheels.
