Song of the Month Club - February 2026
(Note - As our dear friend Richard is still taking a break, I will post this month's SOTMC thread. I've got nothing to submit at this time but will soon. I'll be sure to comment on all your wonderful submissions. Okay, and now, on with the show...)
What is the Song of the Month Club?
It's a place where musicians come to give and receive feedback on their work. Anyone is welcome, whatever their level of ability.
The spirit of the club is to contribute: if you submit a song for others to comment on, you should also have the courtesy to listen to everyone else's contributions and give as much feedback as possible. Posting a track and not listening and commenting on others is not cool.
The purpose of feedback is to be honest. Essentially you should give your truthful impressions of the song, whether good or bad. Negative feedback, if done in the right spirit and with courtesy, can be the most useful and can help the artist to grow.
All submissions are welcome, don't hesitate if you want to contribute. We like all kinds of music and we are particularly fond of vocals (but of course we still love a great instrumental). If you are thinking of experimenting with vocals this is a good place to get started.
We ask that you only post one song per month in this thread - if you're lucky enough to be able to produce more, then please just submit your strongest material
And finally, iOS is not a requirement for posting here. If you've recorded your song using nothing but a ukulele and a Fostex 4 track, that's fine.

This is a music track that I improvised on two MIDI keyboards connected to Bitwig Studio on a desktop PC. There the MIDI was routed to Solo for the cello, bassoon, and violin; Noire for the piano; Jaeger for the singing voice; and Omnisphere for the other instruments.
After bringing the audio recording into Vegas Pro, I applied the Lurssen Mastering Console plug-in to the audio mix.
It's titled Missing You.
@DavidEnglish This was so beautiful and serene. I needed that before bed. This will be living rent-free in my head tonight. ❤️
Not posted in a while, not completed anything tbh. Life’s getting difficult.
Anyway, I did a remix of a song I like. Initially wanted to do a piano house thing, ended up more like Kolsch. Biggest issue was stem splitters unable to scope with the many different voices in the original. So the name of the song isn’t even in the remix 😂
Anyway, it was fun.
Oh and has the F word near the end.

This was a fucking amazing bop! Oops, that sentence had the F word in the middle, lol.
Glad to hear you finished this.
I'm sorry to hear though that life's getting difficult for you. Hopefully things will get better soon, mate. Wishing you all the best of luck.
Since this most closely resembles a song form compared to my Ambient works, I'll submit this one for everyone to listen to here. I may write lyrics for it soon, about true love and other mushy stuff. Yet another song inspired by my girlfriend, lol. 😂
@jwmmakerofmusic aw cheers dude.
Suppose I better say a bit about the track.
Most of the drums are Tekno.
Bass is Analogysaw
There’s some animoog for lead.
Biggest learn was the lead through Modley delay then Fac arteza then band pass and stuff to create subtle swell transition.
Using a lot of big reverb or delay apps at the moment and running them through perforator.
With regards to your song, it’s giving me memories of 2 weeks in Cyprus in 2002. Infectious europop
@DavidEnglish no notes that’s just a moment of lovely.
That's pretty interesting, and perforator is a bloody good app.
Nice! Exactly what I wanted to produce with that piece. ❤️
Agreed with this.
Very lovely job he did.
Just a bump for anyone else who wishes to join us.
Here is a song I just uploaded. Drums, bass, lead line and song sequencing done in DM10. Add samples once I rendered it out to my daw.
@DavidEnglish, wow. Very moving has a Eno tape loop feel that evolves in a beautiful way. Well done.
@jwmmakerofmusic You captured the feel of a night out in Cyprus perfectly. I can see everyone dancing and enjoying the groove in my mind. Great mix.
Cheers mate.
Thank you so kindly. I checked yours out, and it's so gritty with a "lofi" feel to it. I'm a sucker for that type of aesthetic.
I gave you a follow on Youtube and the piece of music a like.
Here is my entry for this month (thank you @jwmmakerofmusic for making this great initiative survive)
Of course, mate. Looking forward to checking your piece after my gig.
Great sound and arrangement. Particularly love the bass sound and variety of instruments.
Finally got the chance to listen, and wow! This made me think it could be a possible "B" side track for "Random Access Memories". Or it's like a combination of Daft Punk and Herb Alpert. Just a brilliant piece of music. ❤️
Sorry dude, if you said that to me I’d take great offense 🤣 I’ve never experienced folks try to convince themselves to like a hyped album so much since oasis be here now. ‘ it’s techno but with real instruments!!’ So…kinda disco. 😝
Sorry dude never got the ram hype, even though I love daft punk. But y’know I love you big buddy! (I do love stardust and it just always sounds like not stardust to me, but what is.)
I do get what you mean though, it’s got that wild bass and kind of goes off to all kind of good thangs. It also, like a lot of daft punk has that constant thematic part threaded right through it that evolves through different sounds. It never gets boring.
Side note, my autistic son was largely non verbal until hearing technologic. He’d request it by saying daft punk exist, then when I put on ram he’d say no! No! No!!! 🤣
He now ‘sings’ all the words.
Oh and he wrote his first song yesterday. It’s called bump, click, struuuummmmm!
Well, for me being compared to DP RAM is a big compliment, thank you. Even if I wanted to sound more like Snarky Puppy…
@DavidEnglish Nice track with a good use of granular effect. I have noticed a very interesting dissonance at 2:17 you could maybe push a bit more forward.
@squeals you brought me back to Ibiza for a while. Nice track that should be very efficient in a club at 2 am, after some vodka of course. Powerful drums and dancy atmosphere. What else do we need ;o)
@jwmmakerofmusic A second dancy track, yes! I like it a lot. I am very impressed by the mastering work. It sounds very powerful and clean. Professional skills here
@Mojotele65 Well made but to be honest a little bit too repetitive to my taste
@cuscolima Thanks for the listen and feedback.
I could've sworn I replied to this. 😱 I already liked it on Youtube. Well, I'm listening again, and I love the dark lofi vibes. This is great music, and I have no idea which genre it'd fit under. But sometimes "screw genres" and all that. Know what I mean? 😉
Thanks so much, my friend.
(I just noticed this now, lol.)
So, great news all. @richardyot will return as SOTMC host next month (March)! Can't wait to hear all your wonderful music! Cheers. 🍻
@squeals
Nice low-key mood with a strong beat. Almost a surprise when the voice comes in. A terrific singing voice that’s used only sparingly, which helps feed the anticipation. Wonderful restraint with this song. That’s a quality you don’t often have with this kind of music.
@jwmmakerofmusic
Jumps out at you and invites you to sort out the sounds and rhythms. Then comes together nicely into a formidable song. Catchy tune and beat. Even explosive in places. Scratches that itch for feel-good dance music.
@Mojotele65
Appealing song that creates a sonic landscape and then methodically explores the possibilities that evolve from that landscape. Almost feels like a flashforward/retro soundtrack for a 1950’s movie that’s part noir and part sci-fi.
@cuscolima
Love the eccentric and eclectic mix of instruments in this one. Same for genres. It seems to effortlessly glide through different styles, instrumental interplays, and melodic textures as though it’s the most natural thing in the world. Most excellent.
Thanks so kindly, my friend.
I appreciate it.
