Turn off widowed mode, easy to do in the control center.
Like this? But then how do I drag something into Logic from another app like Sample Crate?
You can still use slide-over even in full-screen apps mode, which will like be back in 26.4...
...while it does require a bit of finger trickery, you can do drag'n'drop between full-screen apps too..
(Ie. start the drag with one finger, use the other finger to switch apps).
Hmmmm. I'd rather just turn off the stupid feature than entirely change my way of working. Thanks though @Samu
Split View also works quite nicely.
How would one re-size the windows if there was no re-size widget?!
Personally I've not had any issues of un-intentional window re-sizing when using the on-screen keyboards?!
Before iPad OS 26, you always had a resize widget in the bottom right hand corner, where it should be. Now though, you can touch and drag any window edge to resize a window, and if you have impaired fine motor skills, like me, it's fucking annoying because you try and tap something and the window resizes because you didn't manage to tap and release without moving your finger 1mm. It's an accessibility nightmare for people with impaired fine motor skills.
Even for me who doesn't have impaired fine motor skills, it's a right proper unwieldy pain in the ass. I want to return to stage manager how it was back in iOS 18.
It's really dumb too that dragging an edge moves the opposite edge too. Every other window manager I've ever seen just moves the edge you drag. Apple. 🤦🏻♂️
Exactly. It sucks. 😂 Not the first dumb move Apple made, and probably not the final either.
How many years have you been an Apple customer and you still don't see that Apple is never dumb? We are. But what can you expect from a bunch of Neanderthal headphone jack draggers?
Ahahaha! 😂🤣
Yep, I miss the way slide over and split view worked, although it seemed useful at first, this new windowing system is a real pain in the ass, Apple are seriously losing their edge (no pun intended).
I far prefer the new windowing system over slide over and split view. I can't compare Stage Manager because I never had a device that could make use of it. Aside from the edge dragging thing, which I only just now took notice of and am not particularly bothered by, I think the window stuff is great.
🤣 Sorry, but it still reads like a pun. All jokes aside, that windowed apps system just plain sucks.
