Which version of Amplitube on iOS is the one to get?
Orange
Mesa/Boogie
CS (free version)
Amplitube iPhone
Amplitube iPad
Then they all have a host of IAPs - is there a lot of overlap between them? I think best route is just get the main version on iPad since that’s what I mostly use.

Comments
None. IKM has shaky iOS support. I’ll admit that I finally bought the Hammond; the price was just too good to ignore.
I never used Amplitube, but I did used to have Mixbox. IK Multimedia are a pretty shady company that I'd avoid like the plague. That's only my opinion based on personal experience with them though. Ymmv.
None. Wait for a sale on ToneX SE instead. Or buy ToneX or ToneX Max, both are on sale now. One license for PC/Mac/iOS.

I 100% had a feeling this would be commented lol.
I’ve heard this a lot. I’ve been incredibly happy with ToneX and Hammond, and their desktop apps MODO BASS 2 and MODO DRUMS are excellent. I used the irig Pro Duo as my daily driver interface for years before getting the Axe IO One recently. The irig is still the go-to for on the go play. I even have the OG headphone jack iRig still (wonder if that will still work on my headphone jack iPads).
I also had an issue where I bought the Axe IO One which was supposed to come with ToneX and Amplitube, but mine was missing the code. I’d gotten it from Guitar Center, don’t know how it got lost, but the customer support at IK sent me new codes within a few timely email exchanges.
All that to say, I’m not as hesitant on getting their stuff as others. I don’t doubt people have had bad experiences and am not trying to convince anyone to join team IK lol. But somehow I’ve been a happy customer since day one for over a decade.
That's good to hear, though. ❤️ If you've gotten along with them over the years, then I'd say you should definitely get one of the Amplitubes.
I’ve got both versions by mistake. My original Amplitube had some IAPS so I kept that. I think there’s a couple of effects that aren’t defaulted in the CS version but are in the Original version.
@FizzyLizzy27
Can confirm: OG headphone jack iRig still works great for me 🤘
I do have ToneX cross platform and it’s great. Do you think it’s got enough overlap to make Amplitube redundant?
I can only use Amplitube for iPad in Inter-App Audio in Cubasis 3
I don’t necessarily need AUv3 functionality. A lot of times this will be mostly an fx unit to use as a pedalboard/amp sim into my Mac.
That’s good to know though.
Can anyone attest to the Mesa or Orange amps being any good?
This is interesting in the Mesa app (looks like it’s in Orange as well):
What’s the Amplitube 4 bundle entail?
I used to use Amplitube 4 on my PC, then switched to ToneX. I never went back to Amplitube; I feel that ToneX is much more authentic. I used/use both only for amp sim and dist, I have separate apps for other effects. On my iPad, I only use AUv3 Tonex because the standalone version doesn't allow you to properly set the buffer size.
