The plugin is idle. While IDLE it won’t respond to midi. It will in-idle when it is receiving an audio signal. You can also turn idling off by long-pressing on IDLE.

  • Thank you! I am so sorry for my silly question but I have never used idle. I touch idle and it goes to “off”
There is audio being received because the app gives me my effects etc I just can’t control them with mid signals
I can’t try until later but I will try to long press and see what happens

    Thanks again for the help

    See:

    https://loopypro.com/manual/#dsp-performance

If an effect is idle, it is because it isn’t receiving any signal . Loopy puts it to sleep so as not to use resources when it isn’t being used.

If you send midi to an effect in that state, the plugin won’t respond. In your video, you can see that no audio signal is happening. Tapping on idle turns off the effect. As I mentioned, long-pressing lets you turn off idling. But that will mean that you will lose the resource savings when if isn’t actively being used.

You may want to make sure it is receiving audio signal and not idle when doing midi learn and sending it midi.

  • Also, Tonestack Pro MIDI has a couple of special features. First, be sure you load the MIDI version of the AUv3. Second, if you're restoring a preset or session which was saved with MIDI mapping, you need to enable "Load CC Map from Patch" in the app settings. Otherwise, it will erase your mapping every time.

You can see from this screenshot in your video that ToneStack Pro was not receiving any audio signal:

  • Thanks for the feedback everyone so far unfortunately I have no joy

I researched and understand the idol on and off now I can force it to on, but it still does not receive any midi commands.

I also understand about the app needing to be the midi version of the AUV3

and that I need to load CC map from patch if I want to maintain the settings that all makes sense

however, I still have no joy on media learn app controls either. I also tried it with a brand new project and no joy as well.

Can you please make a screen recording on the iPad. For troubleshooting purposes, start with a simple setup: just one guitar input channel, ToneStack midi on that channel and your midi controller added to loopy pro’s mixer and routed to ToneStack Pro.

In the screen recording, make sure we can see your mixer in extended mode so that we can see your routing.

In your video, it looks like you perhaps did not route any midi to ToneStack

  • @Musiclabs : your mixer should look something like below. Notice the MIDI controller routed to TS Pro.

  • OK, so I think I found the problem. I have to actually add a midi device inside the AUV3 which is my midi control pedal ha ha did not know I needed to do that. Always something to learn.

Yes you nailed it!! I did not have the midi mapped to tone stack
    Thank you for your help!!!
