Any bangers on sale? I’m like three pages behind.

    Yup.

    British food, I swear…

It’s a myth. Nobody here eats that muck. We eat this everyday.

We are the king of roasts. Starting from Henry the 8th times. Outdoor cooking ( bbq ) were the best in all of Europe and favoured so by mainland Europeans. Then the common man wanted the same, so morphed into a national dish, where we have 1 or more carvery/resturant/gastro pub making just the dish only in every town or village Its the US that makes a pot roast, yet somehow believe we boil meat. They simmer a roast in liquid and we were the Kings of bbq and have a national dish and outlets everywhere actually roasting.

    Cheese wise.

In 2022. We had 4 cheeses in the top 16 cheese on the entire planet ( We actually have 700-750 named cheeses ) The Swiss won with 1 cheese. Spain. Germany, USA etc got 1 cheese. France and Italy got 3 cheeses each.

You can credit also to England.

    Carbonated water.

    Modern solid chocolate.

    Modern ice cream.

Actually stuff that nearly everyone on the globe will enjoy.

A national dish dating back to middle ages.

    A michelen star version.

    Its worth keeping I guess.

Its not a bad dish to have associated with these lands.

I think Continua is a banger deal for $6.99.

Agreed. I’ve always liked continua, plus there’s some free patch banks floating around somewhere.

The new OB-XD is actually now available on the iPhone as well…but I don’t recommend it in the least . It takes 30-45 seconds to switch from a black screen upon loading in standalone. As an AU, it had no sound in GarageBand running the newest iOS (and most current version of GarageBand). Emailed the developer and was told that since it was working fine in GarageBand on their end, I needed to contact Apple and have them troubleshoot GarageBand. Uhh….read that sentence again .

Is it. Thanks, I did not know that. Cause I’ve always been a fan of the original, but never grabbed the new one since I felt I was fine with the original. I know some aren’t crazy about the gui, but the preset system was fixed, it has thousands of patches, and it’s always sounded great to my ear.

That’s an odd response, I’ll give you that. It could be the iOS version you are on, or a plethora of other things, not sure why they would be so quick to dismiss it.

Maybe you could ask in the dedicated OBXd v2 thread, wherever it may be buried, to see if anyone can replicate the issue, at least that way you can narrow down the source, or report back with multiple instances. Just a thought. Good luck.

Kind of bizarre move that the old version is the same price as the new one, and they're running a promo on the old one. And yet it's not even that much of a discount either. Overall, seems like a recipe for disaster from various angles. I could see people carelessly buying this one, then realizing there's a newer version of the app that costs just 25% more than the old one at sale price, and being a bit, or more than a bit, annoyed...

I bought it. It seems like a decent app. The overall impression is good. And the price for all this is quite low. I haven't tested all the features, but the main ones work. I need to figure it out, it's not all there. There was an update today. It looks like the developer is focused on developing their apps. This developer has another interesting app. Not Auv3. And it has a trial reputation.

I went ahead and a/b compared the sound, and there’s VERY little difference. I primarily had gotten it because the old one’s ui made it a pain in the ass to even try to make presets . I should’ve taken your advice in your video 😄

For grins I tried obxd3 on my iPhone and, same issue and the ui is just as bad as the original

Truth be told I don’t even need these magnificent roasts to enjoy English fare. I’m well suited to all of it, perhaps especially the street food and short order dishes. It helps that I grew up in northern climes and I’m descended from one of the 5,000+ passengers on the Mayflower (fully documented of course)

    FAC Medusa 6.99

More than just a compressor. Side chain/multiput... sick bass demo from @sfm here:

Really is an amazing update, strongly recommend everyone to read the release notes and check it out if you’ve not used Continua for a while.

  • The only compressor I really own is that free RoughRider3. Would y’all recommend FAC Medusa? I’ve slowly been acquiring Fred’s apps as they go on sale, and they’ve been pretty impressive so far, but honestly I don’t know the difference between a “good” or “bad” compressor.

  • I don't own Medusa, but that bass hit in Leo's video was absolutely tasty- that was mostly Medusa, all of dudes stuff sounds so good. With your style and affinity for the 808's you might fair well with a good compressor.

How close is the additive synth part to Phosphor3? Do you know? Love me some more additive synthesis, but I already own Phosphor3 that I like - it has two voices á 64 sine waves- Continua seems to be capable of three OSCs a 64 voices which is a lil more

Haven’t compared the two but you can definitely set all three oscillators to additive mode in Continua.

oh, if you can use that shape control with the additive osc, ohlala

Would be wonderful but no unfortunately. You can draw in your own partials as you want but no way to automate them changing that I’ve found yet. I might be wrong though.
