Has anyone switched from a regular Logic subscription to a Creator Studio subscription?

If so, how did you do it? My subscription to Logic will renew in May, and I'd like to switch. (The education discount makes this an easy choice for me, since I'll end up paying less for more software.)

  • Happy to keep my regular £5 pm sub going for as long as Apple will let me. If I'm forced into this bundle I'll quit (and re-learn Cubasis).

I'd rather use Davinci Resolve than Final Cut, and its free. I'd rather use Affinity for graphics (EDIT: affinity went to free a couple months ago and I hadn't noticed the change, and pulled the ipad versions apparently in development for now), which are a bargain and always preferable to not have to subscribe for, etc etc,, basically no. I'll use Logic Pro until Loopy gets side chain and automation, then I'm done with it, simply because of subscription.

  • My monthly subscription to Logic Pro iPad expired a while back. When I opened it today, it only displays the CreatorStudio subscription options.
Is there still a way to subscribe to Logic Pro only? It seems like Apple intentionally concealed that option…

I had that problem. They don’t make it obvious, but you need to go into subscriptions in your Apple account, then re-subscribe from there. I think it was in iCloud or the App Store profile page.

Yeah, I had already looked under settings/iCloud/subscriptions. It used to show me the expired Logic subscription, but not anymore… just my currently active iCloud plan and an option for Apple One, that’s all.
Also, no listing of my Logic subscriptions in AppStore history. EDIT: It does show in history.
    Crazy :/

It still shows for me. Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions not Settings > iCloud

Yes, that’s the setting I checked (not >iCloud, my mistake), but no sign of a previous Logic subscription anywhere. I’m checking on the same iPad I subscribed and used Logic on in the past.
I’m not planning to re-subscribe at this moment. But if I did, I’d have no idea how.

  • Ugh! And is it correct there is no way to get a Logic-only sub?

  • I just re-subbed yesterday, to the old Logic-only €5-per-month one. I did it from the settings>iCloud>subscriptions page.

I’m still running iOS 18 too. Maybe that’s a thing?

    🤷‍♂️
I’m on 26.3.1 and have looked everywhere in settings and Logic (version 3.0.1), can’t find an option to re-sub to Logic only.
It does show up in my purchase history. But can’t re-subscribe from there.
Curious to hear what iPadOS @anickt and @isomi are running.

  • I’m on 18x, and I can still see the old subscription options. No idea if they’ll work, almost tempted to try a month and see.

I read expired subscriptions automatically disappear from the list after a year.

Could be the reason in my case, my last Logic sub expired February ‘25.
