  • I think I got it, guys — Tone3000 integration is implemented.
Apple took three days to review it… hehe.
Here’s a public TestFlight link to the beta if anyone wants to try it out:
    https://testflight.apple.com/join/qdmsnd4U
Just a heads up: this is still a beta, so it may have bugs. If you run into anything weird, feel free to report it.
I also added an in-app review prompt. If you end up trying it and feel like leaving a rating, I’d really appreciate it — it helps a lot.

  • Thank you Rafael! I have the beta installed—am I correct in understanding that so far you’ve only implemented basic Tone3000 support in the standalone version of Studio Camera? I don’t see any way to access it in AUv3 in Loopy Pro

  • Yes, that’s correct for now. The Tone3000 integration is currently only implemented in the standalone version of Studio Camera.

The AUv3 version uses the NAM codebase pretty much 100% as-is, and AUv3 plugins also run inside a fairly strict sandbox. Because of that, even if I wanted to implement Tone3000 support directly inside the AUv3 plugin, it would be quite difficult to make it work reliably.

  • Thanks @rafabertholdo !

I’m using the auv3 in loopy pro and have a gig this week. The auv3 has been great, no problems at all, and I don’t want to jeopardize my setup. That said, I do want to help test.

Have there been updates to the NAM auv3 or are all the updates in the studio camera app?

I do believe I can uninstall the beta and reinstall the App Store version if needed anyway, but I wanted to check in the above.

P.S. I absolutely love having the NAM player as an auv3. Paired with the Overdrive app (also a NAM player?), my guitar tone is amazing.

No updates on the auv3 side, it’s basically the same code, all I did was a new tab when you add NAM plugin, that allows tone 3000 integration to download NAM models and IRs and load them as soon as it’s downloaded.

You can go back and forth with the beta/appstore versions.

Thanks for the explanation. Bad for me, because I exclusively use Loopy Pro as my host.

Ok cool, thanks. Installed the beta on my older iPad and so far so good. Downloaded a couple tone models in studio camera, etc…

  • Thank you for your efforts @rafabertholdo . I installed the beta and tested the integration which is very straightforward. However, just for feedback I also would only ever use this as an AUv3 effect in AUM/Cubasis/LoopyPro. I understand the app provides far more functionality than just an audio FX however.

Hey @rafabertholdo I now also bought your Studio Camera App to test out the AUv3 NAM loader plugin in AUM.
Congratulations it works great and is even more CPU efficient than NAM XT. Almost by 10%. Awesome! It also feels good to have the OG NAM loader on iOS/iPad.

    I have 3,5 questions/wishes if you don’t mind.
1: Would it be possible to reset the knobs back to their default value by double tapping them?
2: Could the turn sensitivity of the knobs be decreased? That would make small changes easier.
3: Is there a way to make the whole interface scalable? It’s quite small on iPhone.
3.5: I‘d love the icon of the AUv3 plugin to look a bit more like a NAM loader. That would make it more recognisable in a session.

Nevertheless. Thanks for bringing the OG NAM loader over to iOS/iPad! Specially for such a good price!

    Sorry for just asking:
But would it maybe make sense to have the Studio Camera app and the NAM plugin as two separate apps?
I imagine that would make things easier.

It would make it easier to find for folks who are only interested in the auv3 plugin.

That said, it’s painless to use the auv3 nam plugin without the app. I’m so glad to have found this.

FWIW, I used the plugin for 3 hours straight at my gig last night and it was flawless.

That’s very cool! It must be quite a challenge to hit the right loops at the right time while playing / singing to it!

That sounds great. I'm a bit confused though, as the site says 'One Man Band' but I remember you said on another thread you didn't sing any more due to some problems with your voice, hence use of AI for vocals on other tracks you shared. Whoever is singing here, it sounds very good to me, if that's you singing, you should definitely use your own voice more on your recordings.

    You’re getting your Wags confused Gav ( @Gavinski ) … Wagdog / Wagtunes… I’m a fan of Wagamama myself 😊

Thanks! No, I definitely don’t use AI for singing, everything is live.

On the recordings on my site it was the Tonex plugin with a fender twin amp capture. I’m now using the the NAM plugin with a different twin capture. I forgot the exact capture - I’ll look at it when I get home later.

Long time fan of the fender twin and love having one live in my iPad!

Tonex capture from the recording on my site: https://tone.net/tonex/tonemodels/88054

NAM capture I’m using now: https://www.tone3000.com/tones/fender-vintage-reissue-65-twin-reverb-celestion-g12-65-heritage-r121u67-full-rig-35497

Apparently this capture is of a reissue twin. Sounds really good live and mixes well.

That Tonex cap sounds great with a touch of plate reverb.
