How can I send the master bus to a bus return?
Hi all. New to Loopy Pro and enjoying its possibilities thus far. One thing is escaping me, however.
I’m interested in processing my master bus with plugins in my live performance project. Unlike Ableton, Loopy Pro only has audio tracks that are either hardware inputs, the LP loopers, or bus returns. In Ableton, I can create an audio track and make the input the master. I’m stumped as to how I can achieve this in LP. I realize I could create a send for every audio track, but I would also like to include whatever processing I have on the master bus.
I assume that the only option for me is to somehow route the master to a bus return? Or is there another method I may be overlooking?
Thanks for any help in this matter!

Also, welcome to the forum!
When you say “ plugins in my live performance project” what do you mean? You can insert plugins on the master bus. So, you must mean something else, but I am not sure what.
Yes, that wasn’t clear. I’d like to have the master sent to another fader so I have independent control of the processed mix buss signal. It would involve sampling/capturing the master audio so there is not the issue of a feedback loop.
Do you know that you can send busses to other busses? You should be able to set up a "pre master" bus that is the only thing actually going to the master.
Also, somewhat hidden but important, bus sends can be pre or post fader (or even before or after FX). Long press the send to choose the routing.
Yes, I am aware of that but it won’t include plugins I have on the master bus which I want to be included in the signal I will process.
The trick is to set up a bus that functions as master.
Create a bus that has your main outs as the destination. Set all your channels to have no hardware destination. Add an “after all effects” send to every channel of the mixer that you want to go to the mains. Put all your master effects on that bus. It is now functioning as a master bus.
You can now add a send from that bus for any aux effects.
Why not just move the Master FX to the final bus pre-master bus then?
Ok. This makes sense. I didn’t think of de-selecting the master bus as a destination for all the channels.
I wish there was a faster way as in Ableton but this will definitely achieve what I’m looking for. Thanks!
Yes, I see now. I forgot about the option of de-selecting the individual tracks from the master bus destination. Thanks!
@Taehan : the Master isn’t actually a destination. As noted in the manual, it applies to all hardware outputs not just the mains. A more conventional architecture is planned but we have no ETA for the new mixer.
