Holy sh** for real? I've been waiting for someone to put an ARP2600 in my pocket since I learned about it in 2004. Just gotta find my baggy cargo pants from teenagerhood...
Any of these are must have ?
NoiseSpace, SpaceFields, NoInputMixer and GlitchScaper if you’re into strange noises
I have a 15 min video overview of most of them, could give you an idea of which might pique your interest:
I have synthscaper
I get lost every time and have no idea what I’m doing.
Understanding the apps takes work - they are among the most complex I've encountered - but abusing the randomize button leads to interesting results for sampling, granularizing, and creating background textures. I find NoiseSpace actually fairly intuitive to manipulate (easier than, say, ID700, which I use for similar things).
Personally, the most fun I’ve had is with FieldScaper, thats just a lesson in ambient field recording… outside of that the update that Igor did on Vintage Rack, @Gavinski has a video on it, really broke the barrier to entry that App (that being the most user friendly app already). Igor is for sound designers, take a chord or a loop, drop it into your daw, start putting his apps in and you’ll be 300 miles from where you started with hopefully a little idea of how you got there.
*****start putting his apps in and you’ll be 300 miles from where you started with hopefully a little idea of how you got there******
Exactly the reason why I love his apps
So with fieldscaper is it only recording or can you also import samples?
FieldScaper has broken me sooo many times. I was trying to field record some bird songs in it… after hundreds of failures- I started ripping “videos for cats” off YouTube to get some free bird sounds. LOL.
@Meek3 sample away!
@Meek3
I’ll often record a guitar lick in AUM and then load the sample into FS and just get lost manglin the bleep outta it with all of Igor’s different presets. Buckets of fun!

This is another app that’s great for messing around with samples/recordings. Believe it’s free, or it was one I got it
