Dongle time
I am looking forward to playing on open stage and possibly the street. I should save money at this stage so let me pop the difficult dongle first, since I am still on a lightning phone.
Does there exist a dongle that goes from lightning (my phone), offers two USB C, 3.5mm out and charging? AI is being recalcitrant in my search ![]()
In my dreams it is a clip on instead of dongle with a wire.
It might be bad quality what is on offer so what if I upgraded the phone to an USB C version.
Do you know any “clip on” solutions like it, or do you have a best recommendation?
Two USB C out, 3.5 Audio jack, charging port.
Thank you!

Personally I would go Apple’s dongle with a small usb hub. Because you don’t wanna run into problem half way thru a gig because you wanted to save 20$.

Good old search engine still work better than AI and does not use a small lake to cool down every search. 😉
Something like this costs 10 euros and works except I have one with usb a

@Meek3 if the charge port works as a USB C port for a soundcard or midi keyboard?
I need a port for my soundcard and one for the midi keyboard (USB A, or C).
I could forego the charging I guess, and charge before my sessions, less cables
I connect my midi interface to the usb a and charge the usb c port and the 3,5 is audio out.
They sell these on amazon. Also with lightning connection.

Just so people know
I am still looking for advice on a simple dongle with x2 USB C in + Charging port and 3.5 mm out.
This will be for a USBC iphone for minimizing hassle.
I would love it to be clip on without a connector wire, but simple, or high quality will do
Hi. You can find clip-on USB-C adapters, but they can stress and break the iPad USB-C port. In the early days of USB-C iPads, a user replaced 3 iPads on warranty before realizing his clip-on adapter was breaking them.
Also, note that a charging port (Lightning or USB-C PD) will usually not support data transfer. So, it cannot double as a data port.
Roger that @uncledave Velcro it is!
Btw do you guys have more noise charging while using the dongles?
Not if you use a battery bank rather than mains. Charge the battery bank, then use it to power the device. That's what you probably want for street work anyway.
(Street work + dongle. Not tryin' to be lewd, seriously. 😂)
@wim
Roger it.
There is a time for everything.
Idk. Maybe dev can take a vacation with some streetwork?
(-:
Love the photoshopped 1/8" male headphone cord. Is that less than mono?! 🤪
Edit: It's a (non)o cord.
Also the brand name is photoshopped on there I think.
Listening in (non)o would be interesting.... Maybe you can hear your own thoughts? Or is it ono, and you just get Yoko screaming?
Someone good at photoshop should make the ideal "dongle" for the iPad. Personally, can we make it not less than 6 inches from the device?!
Satechi have something that might be close to what you are describing, but only with USB-C, not Lightning. Also, only one USB-C port is full speed for data, the other supports 480mbps (this is only relevant on iPhone Pro models).

It’s pretty small, here’s a picture of it on an iPhone Pro Max for scale.
@zzrwood Amazing, Thank you.
Thats what AI wouldent show me!
I’m thinking about I’m getting it, I can practice keeping my phone straight on the stand, Loopy is best in vertical view.
Drambo in horizontal might be an issue,
But so would sitting on a bench with a dongle swinging off the phone.
Is it your picture? Does it worry, about the horizontal angle? USB -C connector is stronger then Lightning though right?
Yes it is my picture of my iPhone. Not sure what you mean about the horizontal angle, but I am careful to not have cables that would pull strongly against it. Have had no problems so far but don’t use it for gigging.

Photoshop a headphone jack into the iPad too and we're in business.
@wim Two headphone jacks and two usb c.
The music pad. Maybe built in widi too.
-Open up ipad
-Add stuff
-Sell as a mod
