Louder Than Liftoff Silver Bullet Mk2 Public Beta
Hi everyone! I'm excited to announce that the public beta of Louder Than Liftoff's Silver Bullet Mk2 is now available on TestFlight. Here's the link:
https://testflight.apple.com/join/D7YhY2UT
This plugin has been immensely popular with mixing and mastering engineers. It was meticulously modeled by the Louder Than Liftoff team over the course of a year and half, and then expanded with novel, impossible-in-analog features by us at Unfiltered Audio. We've had more than one mastering engineer tell us it's the only software plugin they use in their otherwise all-hardware chain.
We've been testing this primarily in Logic and Drambo, so please let us know if you hit anything unusual! As always, please let us know what DAW you're using this in, along with sample rate and buffer size.

So pleased that you’re bringing more of your plugins to iOS @trickyflemming, looking forward to trying it out. Cheers.
Happy to read that a lot of testing was done in Drambo!
I normally don't beta test things, but I may give this a shot in Cubasis 3 either today or tomorrow.
@trickyflemming First impression: gives some extremely impressive sonic results but, in my opinion, could really do with some thought regarding the UI. The long thin interface just doesn’t play nicely with mobile screens - even when full screen, it’s still pretty small and difficult to read the controls. Maybe even consider splitting the controls over two pages so that the UI aspect ratio could work more practically on mobile devices?
100%, even on a large iPad this UI is just quite hard to read, especially at lower brightnesses, which are the norm for mobile device users. It's gorgeous but not optimal at all. Also, the main drop down menu for presets is not working for me in AUM, I can only use the arrows.
I’ve been waiting for this one to appear.
Have been giving it a run in Cubasis 3. I’m using an 11” iPad Pro M2. iPadOS26…
Sample rate is 48Khz. The latency is 216.2 ms - 21.3ms selected.
Two things straight up:
1) The Air dial doesn’t appear to work or at least I can’t get it to move. It’s currently fixed in the 12 O’Clock position.
2) The C Mix dial doesn’t appear to move either - It’s solid at 100%.
3) Although it’s pretty rare for me to investigate them, but since others have commented, I checked the preset selector window and it is broken in Cubasis as well.
For what it’s worth I do like what this unit is doing to the sound overall.
Yes, I forgot to mention that: drop down menu for presets didn’t work for me either (tested in Audio Evolution and Drambo) - was only able to use arrows.
Mate, this is you too?? The Unfiltered Audio stable of plugins… the Hetrick CV modules on VCVRack and Voltage Modular… and now this which is probably my favourite desktop plugin! You are fast reaching hero-dev status my friend (don’t get jealous @brambos - you’re still up there too lol).
Amazing.
Same, regarding the air and C mix dials, can't get them working. But also, wow, this plugin can sound really good as long as you dial it in carefully
It’s top level stuff. Nice to see it land here.
Or can blow your eardrums out if you don’t! 🧏
That’s why I have calibrated my system listening levels to a level that prevents things from going too loud. Keeps the little surprises that appear with different plugins and their personal gain levels at a manageable level while protecting my personal monitoring system. 👂 👍👨⚕️
Yes, definitely, keep input low while tweaking
Just wanted to share that I think this app is kind of awesome. I’ve had 4 - 5 of these running on group tracks in Cubasis and it’s just been magic.
Not sure if this is the intended purpose. Probably more focused on the master bus, but it provides the analog desk vibe.
Hi @trickyflemming - this is indeed sounding awesome. I feel like the GUI needs a retweak for iPadOS though. With the current layout the text is too small and the touch areas are difficult to hit with my fat fingers.
Thanks for sharing this @trickyflemming ill definitely give it a try, thanks.
Thanks! Sorry for not being here as much last week. I went and injured my back shortly after posting the beta. I got a course of steroids and an MRI, so now I'm back in action. I'll talk to Brad and see if he has any feedback on the UI. It's definitely a tricky aspect ratio since it's 1:1 with the hardware.
Dann, wish you a speedy recovery Michael! Btw, don't forget the UI is also slightly broken, as previously listed by @Mountain_Hamlet:
"Two things straight up:

2) The C Mix dial doesn’t appear to move either - It’s solid at 100%.

I don't know if you'd be open to removing the logos, but that would let you trim about 15% from the width, which would make a big difference. Or make another row, like a header perhaps, which contains the preset selector and the logos. Definitely would be nice to get a little more size out of the UI, even full screen on my ipad it's a little finicky.
As to the unit itself, it sounds awesome. Getting some really great tones out of it. I did have to resort to the documentation, if anyone is curious this quick start guide covers most of the controls:
https://louderthanliftoff.com/cdn/shop/files/Silver-Bullet-mk2-Quick-Start-Guide-2600x1700_tiny.png
No problems other than what others have noted.
Thanks Mountain_Hamlet. We've fixed 1 and 2. We've also made it easier to touch the Tone button. All three of these widgets had issues because they have a touch and hold callback to allow you to change the associated mode. You'll see the label color change. It could use a better system but it does now work. I appreciate you finding this. I will look at the preset selector window in Cubase issue now.
All users that reported issues with the interface being too small, I definitely agree. I don't think we will be able to do a full responsive overhaul on the interface upon launch, but in general Mike and I (and Brad) would love to make our GUIs more small-screen-touch friendly moving forward. We've been working with Hannes at Papernoise for many years, and he's great at coming up with concepts for this type of thing, so we will definitely try to figure out a better system. Side note, but one thing I've been mulling over mentally, is redoing all of our early products one by one making them responsive/mobile friendly, so starting with G8 then going down the line and releasing them on iOS. TBD but rest assured we do hear you and iOS is becoming increasingly important to us as a platform.
Cheers!
Oh I'm very much looking forward to having the older plugs on iOS, especially specops(:
This is great news!
I'm excited about the Silver Bullet plugin. The hardware is something I watch a lot of videos about, it intrigues me. This is a way for me to get a little taste of what it is capable of and how it works.
Thanks for all of the reports so far! We have just released Beta 2. This should fix the preset menu not appearing, along with the stuck AIR and C-MIX knobs.
Knobs are working and the preset menu is appearing. Have tested in Cubasis and Loopy Pro.
