"The Modern Classic" (Neo-90s House in Gadget)

This is sort of like classic 90s House, but with some modern twists. I made this in Korg Gadget 3 and mastered it in Cubasis.

Comments

  • A pro tip is using Gadget's Enhancer on basses really fattens them up, makes the subbass areas deeper.

  • SoundCloud not loading in your first post. Your triphop one did

  • Freaking outstanding …. This is one of those tracks I admit I wish I could’ve come up with !

Thanks, mate. :) Glad you dig it.

  • I'm tapping my foot to the rhythm!!! Love it, mate! Wonderful track...as usual

The kick is so punchy! it's an internal sample (Recife or London or...)?

It's from the "Sounds of KSHMR Vol 5" sample pack, loaded into Bilbao along with other drum samples from said pack and a couple from Superdrums 8000.

Bilbao, just in case you don't know yet, is able to load your own samples. ❤️

    Thank you @jwmmakerofmusic !
Bilbao is one of my favorite Gadgets. Sometime i load the same bass sample on all the 16 channels and go to the 'play' tab. Here is where the fun begin... choose some groove and you have a bassline. Then i change the pitch on a couple of samples, adjiust the midi notes and you are ready to go

That's cool how you use Bilbao. :) I usually just use Vancouver for melodic oneshots, which in most cases is the JV1080 Pizzi sound that was popular in late 90s Dance music.

Thanks mate. :) And yes, I definitely have Gadget figured out. I said it elsewhere, but it's like being in a studio surrounded by all my favorite gear, but all wrapped up in a nice virtual package on iPad. ❤️

  • Thanks to you for the info about the samples and sounds you used

    Of course mate. :)

  • @Luc_A and others, I use these following sample packs...

    -Sounds of KSHMR Vol 1-5

    -Samples from Mars Complete

-Black Octopus Leviathan I-IV (1-4), Nu Disco Dynamite, Trident Tech, and Bangers & Anthems

    -Loopmasters Deadmau5 XFer

-Image-line's Super Drums 8000, The LoFi Box, and Real Drumkits, and Generic Samples

    -KB6 Drum Machine Samples

-Magix Music Maker samples that are over two decades old (I got those from a CD believe it or not lol)

  • Footnote - I think this may be my last (or second-to-last) heavy beat-based track for a while. I want to switch over back to Ambient, Lofi, and Downtempo music. ❤️
