Here is a Music Player for the Creations & Collaborations section [web app|

https://loopypro-radio.onrender.com/

Save the above link as a short cut on your Home Screen, and this will look and behave as a standalone app, and or you can simply bookmark it in your browser.

Catching up with peer creations should feel enjoyable, not like a chore. Avoid juggling multiple tabs, reloading, scrolling, and remembering where you left off. Different audio players and video submissions to the Creations section can now sit in one place.

This player comprises audio and videos from the first page of the Creations and Collaborations thread of the Loopypro forum. It updates every few hours. For threads that host a series of creations, only the most recent creation is added. The playlist is sorted in chronological order of the posted creation date. It’s not meant to be a reflection of the forum page. The intention is for creations with less interactions to be visible longer than they would on the forum.

Features

• A link on the player which leads to the relevant forum post
• PWA - launch from the Home Screen short cut and the web app behaves as a stand alone app, hiding the browser entirely, no tabs or browser UI.
• Night Mode toggle
• Skip Buttons

Notes

• YouTube videos won’t run in the background
• No auto play ability
• A gesture is required on the player to start audio, even after using skip or selecting something from the playlist.
(Not much of a radio, lol)
• I’m not a Dev. I’m keeping it simple to minimize resources due to my inefficient prompting. I made this for myself to satisfy an old desire to better keep up with this fine community. I’m sharing because It’s a sentiment I’ve heard echo through the forum by others, i will be looking into any bug reports at a leisurely pace.

Enjoy :-)

  • That's so cool! Thank you for making this. :)

  • I’ve always wished for something like this! Is it always updating with newer posts? Too bad it just can’t keep playing but it’s a big improvement- many thanks

Not always, it’s currently set to update once daily at midnight EST. I don’t want to bug atMichael, so I’ll bug @wim instead (PM me) to see if he has the permissions to do a theoretical easy configuration change and add a webhook URL for me. This would allow me to set up the player to refresh whenever a new creation is added. If not, I’ll increase the refresh frequency on my end.

You’re welcome. I’m glad you’ll find it useful.

    You are welcome Jim!

  • Fixed a bug where the nightly refresh broke the inline player for Soundcloud and HearThis. (Soundcloud and HearThis had to be launched in order to hear the track)

What’s nice is that one doesn’t have to update anything for changes to take affect.

  • What a fab idea, thank you @Blipsford_Baubie! I’ve posted about this on my Twitter and YouTube Community, crediting you, with a link to the player and to this original post.

  • What a grand idea @Blipsford_Baubie. Sorry however - modifying the site is above my pay grade.

  • Thanks @Blipsford_Baubie

    Great idea.

Sometimes i listen and sometimes i don’t always feel like jumping to soundcloud or whatever so this will make it easier for everyone. Thanks.

Just saw the post on YT and came here

Music Player now updates more frequently! ( @MrStochastic) Any new music/video added to Creations will be added to the music player within 3 hours, instead of once daily.

    I’m happy you’ll find this useful @Poppadocrock 👍

I found your YT post @Gavinski , big thanks for helping amplify our creators! 👏

@wagtunes , i finally got it so that your most recent tune is on the player

@wim I knew it was a big ask, but i got it sorted and thank you

  • "For threads that host a series of creations, only the most recent creation is added" - that's good, people like Wagtunes who keep their posts all in one thread aren't punished. That behaviour should probably be incentived, tbh, as I remember a few people commenting previously that they wish anyone posting creations very regularly would keep them all in one thread.

  • Nice work!

    Thank you. Much appreciated.

  • This is great @Blipsford_Baubie! Thanks very much.

    • Updated so that prolific contributors with multiple threads have a collapsible section underneath their most recent contribution. Skip buttons will skip to the next artist when the section is collapsed (default behavior). An expanded section accepts skips.

    • fix for @McD s thread/ now shows most recent creation in the player

    Thanks! @lasselu Enjoy! @pbelgium

  • Great idea!

I wasn't aware of this myself actually. I should probably have monthly threads rather than one per track. Unless that one track turns out to be an album or EP. Cheers Gav.

  • Nice job with this. I hope this leads to more listens overall. It’s nice to be able to play stuff in the background without having to dig through the threads to find ‘em.

  • Cool idea Blip! This might even inspire me to start sharing some of my music again. 🙏

    @Blipsford_Baubie

  • @Dav , i stumbled upon your comment in the sales thread. What a coincidence, lol

Thank you. I hope so to @Mountain_Hamlet, It certainly has gotten more listens from me. It’s nice to get right to some tunes while having my morning coffee without forum distractions. And if you do want the relevant thread to the song, it's accessible right there via the player. Seems to be doing better than i expected. I notice all forum threads only have one view! 😉

That’s great @Edward_Alexander , i love to hear me some more Drambo .

  • Very cool! Thank you
