Loopy Pro in AUM?
Hi, I am a long time user of AUM and very new to Loopy Pro. Because of that I am trying to use Loopy Pro AU in the effects slot of a bus in Loopy pro. It works if I start from scratch to build a project however the former projects saved in Loopy Pro are not there. Is there a way to access them?h

Worth noting; unless you are using AUM features that Loopy Pro lacks, you miss out on quite a bit of flexibility and useful hosting features running it as an AU. If I can answer questions that would help you get used to it as a host, let me know.

I'm still scared (?) to try Loopy Pro as a Host. I'm very used to AUM but still i use Loopy Pro in my Output (as a 4 track/looper channel). Which benefits v/s AUM do you see?
Thank you very much for these references. It looks like I CAN do what I was talking about. I believe that is probably not the best approach. I hadn’t thought of using LP as a daw when not looping. I saw one of your templates on YouTube today showing pointer knobs or buttons controlling many parameters at once. I like that approach.
This reminds me greatly of migrating from Audiobus to AUM. Not looking forward to the journey but have great expectations for the destination 😀. As always this forum and people like you teaching us is a priceless resource.
Sorry to be late in responding. There is so much that Loopy can do as a host even if not using it as a looper at all. I was hoping to come up with a concise summary but haven’t had a chance.
One aspect is that you can create custom work surfaces to control all your plugins directly from the work surface: adding buttons and knobs and sliders that can do simple things like change an AU’s parameters or complex things like changing presets and settings of many AU at once.
Here are a few videos from @timfromtheborder doing things in Loopy Pro different from the typical use

Check out Inby’s template in the sample projects. Here’s her walkthrough
This video from Inkie walks through his LP707 project which is one of the sample projects bundled with Loopy Pro
Hopefully those will give you a taste of things Loopy offers as a host.
