Tape 1 - a track inspired by Boards of Canada

I’m sure I’m not the only one putting Boards of Canada in heavy rotation lately, with their new album on the way. I’ve been doing some lo-fi stuff in Drambo and put together this little tune. Enjoy :)

  • Verrry nice!!

  • Kind of Balearic BoC!

  • This is dope. Reminds me of nights on the beach just kinda sittin.
Love your TAPELOSS module btw. Thanks! 🤙

  • Lovely! I really enjoyed this take on BoC inspo.

  • That was gorgeous! I would definitely listen to an album in this style!

  • Thanks everyone, appreciate your comments :) I think I’ll keep working in this vein, it’s really nostalgic for me.

Glad you'll continue on with this style. :) You really do have a grasp on Drambo.

  • This is tasteful, not too over the top warbly. I like the saturation. I like that semi- droney bass pitch env bend. Now I’m curious to check out this aforementioned Tapeloss module, because something i’ve really taken to lately is a Filterbank module, which i think might be yours too?

I’ll probably cook up a new version based on some stuff I’ve been figuring out, but it’s good as is.

Personally I think this piece is a little too saturated and the noise floor a little too high. I like how noisy it is but it’s hard to keep it dynamic and get good loudness too. I’m looking into filtering and EQing my noise sources for future experiments.
