JWM - The Patch EP (Tech House EP in FLSM)

https://on.soundcloud.com/jGtEAKI0QAjPnhAtUH

I decided to create a separate thread for this one since it's a full four-track EP. I was commissioned to make a Tech House EP on Monday, and despite having never produced Tech House before, this was easy to produce since I'm used to listening to Tech House. (Why I never thought to give it a go before is beyond me, but ah well, lol).

Here's the track listing...

00'00" - The Intro
04'24" - Tech House One
07'21" - Relaxation Method
11'57" - What the H is This

I used FL Studio Mobile for the entire production, including the use of soundfonts (mainly the General User soundfont found here...

https://schristiancollins.com/generaluser ).

I also made heavy use of Black Octopus' "Trident Tech" sample pack for this one, which I've never used before but have found extremely useful in the production of this genre. Anyways, I mastered the EP in Cubasis using BarkFilter, Cubasis' Brickwall, and Youlean's Loudness Meter.

"Tech House One" is actually the first track I produced for the EP, kinda going in not knowing what I was doing but hoping to hit the mark. Then I decided to try a "Tech House meets Deadmau5" type track and labeled it "The Intro". "What the H is This" was made due to me wanting to make a more unhinged type of track, and it serves well as the last track. "Relaxation Method" was the last track made for the EP, and I wanted something that sounded like Tech House but more chilled.

You're welcome to actively listen to the whole thing front to back, or have it on in the background while jogging or paying bills, or just to skim through it. However you wish to listen, please enjoy. ❤️

  • Bump. This took work, and I don't want it ignored.

  • Gonna give this the time it deserves and listen in sequence with the wife tomorrow after work right before we work on music …I’ve been really digging your recent work so looking forward to it!

Thanks so much, my friend. :) Can't wait to see what you and your wife both think.

Hell yeah mate. 😎 I absolutely love the 80s and 90s and often draw upon those decades for a lot of the music I make.
