Switching expression pedal cc numbers
Hi Folks, I am trying to find a good way to vary my midi expression pedal to convert it to different midi cc#s.
I am picturing a stepped dial that would switch the cc# from one used for volume control to a cc# used for modulation for instance.
And finally direct this signal where it needs to go.

Comments
Can you describe the use-case in more detail ? What are you planning to use the converted cc’s for? Sending to external devices? Controlling Audio Units?
If it is the latter, do you need to send the midi to the audio unit or are you wanting to control one of its parameters ?
Thanks for responding. I intend to control AUV3 parameters as well as widgets that control AUV3s. To begin with if I could just use a button to change my M-Vave expression pedal to set a volume to being able to control modulation on the same synth.
I picture:
1)selecting a synth (with either a widget on the screen or a midi switch)
2)adjusting the volume with my expression pedal if necessary
3)activate a switch so that the same expression pedal can now control modulation eg
I am not used to touching the screen while performing. Maybe I should get used to that.

I just included a picture of what I am working on. There are three auv3s and a volume control for my hardware electronic accordion. You can ignore the note about the accordion volume, that is for me.
At this time I select an AUv3 instrument by touching its named widget (mute/unmute) and then select a preset with a radio button.
I would like to affect the associated volume widget with a foot controller as I am playing the AUv3 so I can hear it.
Then after setting the volume widget I would like to use the same expression pedal for another cc number for instance to control modulation.
I was thinking of using a radio dial to select what the alternative cc# would be.
Not entirely clear to me either but I am amazed at what I have built so far.🤣
Thanks for your help
@bellows: for what you want you don’t need to translate midi ccs. You can use profile switching to change what the incoming midi cc controls:

Thanks espiegel123, I will check it out 🙏
I checked it out and learned how to do it. Thank you so much for your help on this journey.
