Song Of The Month Club - May 2026
What is the Song of the Month Club?
It's a place where musicians come to give and receive feedback on their work. Anyone is welcome, whatever their level of ability.
The spirit of the club is to contribute: if you submit a song for others to comment on, you should also have the courtesy to listen to everyone else's contributions and give as much feedback as possible. Posting a track and not listening and commenting on others is not cool.
The purpose of feedback is to be honest. Essentially you should give your truthful impressions of the song, whether good or bad. Negative feedback, if done in the right spirit and with courtesy, can be the most useful and can help the artist to grow.
All submissions are welcome, don't hesitate if you want to contribute. We like all kinds of music and we are particularly fond of vocals (but of course we still love a great instrumental). If you are thinking of experimenting with vocals this is a good place to get started.
We ask that you only post one song per month in this thread - if you're lucky enough to be able to produce more, then please just submit your strongest material
And finally, iOS is not a requirement for posting here. If you've recorded your song using nothing but a ukulele and a Fostex 4 track, that's fine.

My entry this month, lyrics in the spoiler:
You know I wish that
I could just believe you
I’m not coming back
I don’t want to see you
And I just cracked
I never wanted to come back
So let me be
I tried to run so desperately
And if I stay, or if I leave
You can’t conceal what you believe
So here’s where we’re at
There’s nothing to see here
I’m cutting the slack
I don’t want you too near
And I just cracked
I never wanted to come back
So let me be
I tried to run so desperately
And if I stay, or if I leave
You can’t conceal what you believe
A house song from my band :
Really like your vocals and how you mix them !!
Here is this month's song, just released this morning. Made entirely in my MPC Live 3 except for mastering in Reaper. I hope you enjoy it.

Love the bass, the riff is very catchy. I can totally imagine dancing to this in a club, off my face.
The breakdown is great as well, and creates some great anticipation in the middle section, which is rewarded when the main theme kicks back in.
This is a music track that I improvised on two MIDI keyboards connected to Bitwig Studio on a desktop PC. There the MIDI was routed to Intimate Violin for the violin, Noire for the piano, Vital Series: Mallets for the vibraphone and glockenspiel, and Continua for the background instrument.
After bringing the audio recording into Vegas Pro, I applied the Lurssen Mastering Console plug-in to the audio mix.
It's titled Till Then.
Well done. Very emotive. The visuals are great too. Could use this track for a scene in 2001: Spade Odyssey.
This might sound stupid, but your song reflects the kind I listen to when I go back from rehearsal and I have to rewire everything, again and again... lol.
(image to express what I'm feeling.)

I dig it. I like the swtich to the bitcrush / distortion in the end.
I have this playlist/mix in mind :
Thanks for your good words, and going in depth about the structure. I think we have a lot of things to improve, but you mentioning the words "club" and "dancing" means the world to me since this is exactly what we're trying to do live !
Very chill, I like the choice of sounds: piano, keys, and the synth that morphs into guitar-like lead. The lead line works well with the chords and the recurring theme is beautiful.
Thanks @Etienne for listening. I dig your play list. I listen to similar music to your play list on my drive home from rehearsal as well. You would probably like my Communications from DM12 that I made with the Behringer DM12.

@richardyot 🙏 Much appreciated.
@richardyot Great job! It has everything I love about 80’s Synthwave and Darkwave music. I really enjoyed the when the acoustic guitar came in and the female vocal lead in the middle. Very well arranged. What did you make it with?
@Etienne awesome track. Well produced, mixed. Had me dancing in the kitchen this morning while making my coffee. Would love to hear more about how it was made.
Thanks 😊
The track was put together in Logic for iPad. The main riff is one of my Lagrange patches, the acoustic guitar was recorded at 105bpm and then timestretched to 120bpm to give it that frenetic feel. The vocal samples are adlibs from a Black Octopus pack (played backwards).
The other synths in the track are Zeeon and Synthmaster 2, using my own patches. And the vocals are mine, processed with Xvox, Pro-C3, and MagicVerb. Drums are one of the stock Logic kits, can't remember which.
Wow, thanks for the low down. Lagrange is an awesome synth. Going to check out this Black Octopus.🐙
Thank you very much !
It was originally a jam I made 3 years ago. My bandmates and I dusted my jam folder and chose this one, which is a nice feeling seeing an abandonned idea taking life. We jammed together until we were happy with the sections.
I put everything in Logic for desktop, and mixed it using using typical side-chaining eqs and compressions. I also tend to complicate my life because I really want to make the produced songs to reflect what we play live, so my synths and fx are 1:1 between my live ipad rig and desktop plugins ! (appart from loopy pro not available on desktop at this time)
Really upbeat contra pointed with the more down beat lyrics. Reminded me somewhat of soft cell here. possibly duck? the music ever so slightly when your voice comes in so I can hear what you are saying better... but that might be just me I've always had difficulty hearing lyrics in songs. :-)
Ha ha...at first I thought this was tooo busy for a wed morning and a minute later my head is going like a bobblehead on a bumpy road...
Thanks for listening
I do often duck the guitars out of the way of the vocal, but I didn't this time - I'll listen again and check to see.
This is probably the most fun I've had with a track in a while, but it started as one thing, got forgotten about, and then there was re-kindled interest just a few weeks ago where lots of pieces suddenly came together. There was a lot of sound trawling in Pigments, Synthmaster 2, and Analog Lab, and what started as simple experimentation largely went into the final track with minimal takes and a lot of "impulsive energy."
@richardyot Those hi-hats! I really like the overall groove, and the bell chime hook really sucked me in. The haunting vocal (or is it a synth?) soaring in and out of the background is also wonderful. All the pieces come together really well.
@Etienne Seriously funky! I love that interplay between bass, guitar and synths. It all just grooves so well. Makes me want to go out and see you live in a club somewhere (and that maybe I was also 20 years younger so I could actually make the evening trek as well).
@Mojotele65 Great chill track! It’s Friday afternoon for me and work is just about out – so this puts me in the “hang out with friends in a cool dive bar with gin and tonics” mood. I could soak this in all evening.
@DavidEnglish Those strings are sublime! Piano and Mallets bring a wonderful structure for the strings to live in. This is the track I would listen to after getting back from gin and tonics at the bar where Mojotele65’s track was playing.
Bless you @peanut_gallery made my day! Have a great weekend. Thanks for listening and taking the time to comment.
Lovely exuberant track with some really great synth patches. The arrangement is well-crafted, with some interesting changes to keep you engaged. Great job!
@richardyot Thank you!
lol! Thank you, coffee may have been involved in the producing (and beers too, but not in the morning).
🙏🙏 Very glad you like it. I don't know where you're based but we tour only in France at the moment (we don't have a booking agency yet). I've seen young and old folks dancing in the crowd though
@richardyot I love this song a lot! I'd love to remix it. Could you DM me the stems?
@Etienne This is really funky and awesome! Reminds me a little of Justice and Daft Punk.
@Mojotele65 As I said in your thread, this is a lovely piece of chill downtempo music. I simply love it. Your "Communication from DM12" is an interesting piece of music and quite interesting. Reminds me of some of the music I made back in Uni.
@DavidEnglish Still a beautiful, emotional piece of music.
Your music is like a warm blanket. Familiar and comforting.
@peanut_gallery What a treat! I love 80s music and 80s-styled music. This sounds like Synthpop perfection.
As far as I go, I'll submit this for SOTMC 2025.

Inspired by Deadmau5. Starts of orchestral, and evolves into a dancefloor tune. 😅
@jwmmakerofmusic Thanks a lot and good catch, I really dig their music !
This is epic ! I love the long intro / build up. Superb mix too. I like that you start with the dark / beefy part and then introduce the main them. Very catchy song
Me too, mate.
I love Justice and Daft Punk. Had a huge obsession with Justice a couple years ago (2023-2025), and I still sometimes like to churn out a Disco banger once in a while. 🪩
Thanks so kindly mate.
"Strobe" by Deadmau5 inspired this piece. See, Deadmau5 put in a long Ambient-like intro to Strobe that lasts around 2-3 minutes before introducing the kickdrum. A phenomenal piece of music. So, that's where I lifted the idea to create a long orchestral intro from. That, and listening to BT's "This Binary Universe", which is chock full of orchestral moments.
@jwmmakerofmusic Love this track! Upbeat, uplifting, and very kinetic. Perfect for getting me awake and in a good mood on a Monday morning.
