I’d buy it if it was 10-12 bucks.

    My comment from march 24th^^^

    Me today: Purchased!

  • called SpiceCore now for anyone wondering where it is on the AppStore

  • @Pixel maybe you could change the name of the thread, perhaps write "Spice Core, formerly Spicelab"?

    Done 😊

  • Is it just me or is anyone else finding that the ask Siri prompt keeps popping up and the whole app exiting screen left/right when using keyboard stand alone?

Nice! Actually, just realized it should be with no space, SpiceCore 😛

It is not you, but noted!!! I'm gonna address this misbehavior more aggressively, as it was supposed to be solved a couple of weeks ago.

I'm more an old style real keyboard user, yet, the on-screen keyboard is supposed to work as expected.

    Thank you!!!

  • I am enjoying the app but I don't really understand what I am doing. Videos of how to make it work would be great

Hi everyone, long time no see.

I’ve still been hacking away at my little synth, and I actually released the v2.0.0 build. It has grown quite a lot since the last version, probably more than I originally intended.

The main thing I’d love feedback on is the new generator side of it, besides the new sound banks.

There’s now a Harmonic Mode, where one key can drive a chord and the synth voices it for you. It has a few keyboard layouts, chord colours and voicing styles, plus a motion engine that can strum, pulse, arp and evolve the chord. The idea is that it can sit on top of the sequencer or Motion Arp, rather than replacing them.

I’ve also added Sound Layers, so Sequencer, Arp and Harmonic can each have their own sound while sharing the same pattern. The Mutation / Density / Chaos / Memory faders now remember different values per generator too, which makes switching between them feel a lot more like changing “players” than just changing modes.

There’s a lot of synth-engine work in there as well: up to 16 voices, OSC-FM, ring mod as a fifth mix source, a Timbre macro, better Shape/PWM behaviour, dual HP/LP filters with drive/saturation/keytracking, more modulation destinations, Groove Curves, MIDI Learn, aftertouch/velocity/mod-wheel routing, and a rewritten factory bank.

It runs standalone and as AUv3, including in Logic Pro for iPad and other hosts.

I’m not really looking for praise here. I’d mostly like some honest ears on it: does the Harmonic stuff make musical sense, does the UI explain itself, does anything feel awkward, are there stuck notes, weird host behaviours, preset recall problems, MIDI issues, that kind of thing.

If anyone here hasn’t had a chance to try 2.0.0 yet and would like to jump on the TestFlight build, reply in the thread and I’ll send you an invitation.

    Rocco
