16 Drones updated to version 2.0 - notes from the developer:
16 Drones 2.0 is being released today, with the bug fixes (Yes, it saves now, thanks for reporting ) but also a powerful generative engine that can easily be mapped in AUM to control other AUv3s and MIDI Out, with separate drones midi out and play voice and different creative generative styles.

It's only $9 ffs, one time fee no sub. 🤣 Not a huge investment like Fugue Machine Rubato to find out if it works for me or not. I'm buying the unlock.

Exactly. I've played around further with 16 Drones after unlocking it, and it's something I didn't know I needed in my life! Expect some Ambient from me in the future (if not soon, at least on Drone Day 2026). Now THIS is my kind of app.

Yeah - same here...reviews are dependent on the location of your app store.
I can't get this to work the way I want with each output on it's own channel (1-16). I found where once but fuck know what I did but anyway where ever I could I prepared for how I wanted it but in the end not even channel 1 made a beep. I don't get why this little dropdown with a channel selector is highlighted on each tab, there's room for it. Instead it's hidden.
Well I had to pay to even try but back it goes.
It might be an annoyed and impatient me doing all kinda wrong but what I'm saying above should not require a manual.
edit: It's under mappings
I thought this might be it but it isn't for me, 'Show Midi' only detect ch1. Channel 13 and above can't be reached due to menu issues.
update increased the iOS requirement from 17 to 18. First I’ve seen of an app doing that. Kinda a bummer (my older device is stuck on 17.x) Can still use the older version but guess I’m SOL with any future features

Contacted, best he could do was a discount price of a pro features unlock (odd offer as it doesn’t help the situation). Seemed nice enough of a fella tho
I hope he's learned a lesson from that, that's a really good way to piss off paying customers. Probably never thought it through I guess?
Claimed the additions to the app just didn’t jive with the initial iOS requirements he had. Shitty, but it is what it is I guess. Like I said, can still use the old install (unless I delete it, I’m sure). Luckily didn’t upgrade to pro before the switch, but I sure as hell wanted too! That app is sweeeet…
Why don't u just upgrade to iOS 18 anyway?
