I feel you. I've always been strong at writing, but sometimes professors have accused me of having "elevated prose" style. Now I get people asking me if I'm using AI because that's what it looks like. So thanks to AI I have to dumb down my writing style, and avoid making nuanced comparisons.

To guard authenticity, I tend the other way: I overwrite. Break the rhythm. Lean into tonal shifts over the entire piece. Respect the audience worth respecting. The rest don't read.
