@higherplane could we have an option for custom scales?
Is anyone else’s instance of spacewalk become unresponsive after a certain amount of time? Doesn’t crash, but just become completely unresponsive to touching anything. This is testing it out in AUM.
And a strange thing is, unloading the instance from the midi node in AUM and reloading it doesn’t fix it. I have to completely force close AUM and restart it.
Let me go see if it acts the same in Drambo
This is totally out of this world 🌎!
Just inspired me to do a really nice ambient track with iwavestation!
So far, I haven’t had any issues using it in Drambo.
Haven’t tried anything else yet other than Drambo and AUM.
This needs like a strum setting or something other than just block chords.
It is great for coming up with chord progression ideas though. I guess that export midi button is there for a reason.
I guess you could also run it through MIDI Strummer by 4pockets. I haven’t set that up but I was feeling similarly about the progressions being great but playback is kinda stale.
I like to run it through ChaosArp to add a little variety.
The Mozaic script "chord delay" works well for this. It's a pretty simple script and I wish I knew how to write them because it could use some extras like an ability to store scenes; or also to sync to host tempo, etc..
All good suggestions. I’ve been having great results using Drambo’s Strum, Strum Generator, and ARP modules.
I’m not a sure you feelings about AI, but as someone who spends most of their time coding for a living, I can attest to using AI a few years ago to analyze others’ work and improve my scriptwriting in Mozaic.
I actually discovered that an LLM could quickly create functional scripts from examples, documentation, and well-formed ideas, much faster than I could.
It’s worth a shot! Your imagination and patience are the limitations 😂
My feelings are mixed but I've been using it to help with learning some things, etc. I have been intrigued by the coding thing and have posted about that elsewhere on the forum but my "imagination and patience" might limit me. 🙃 Or, basically time constraints.
Actually, when I started reading your post I thought maybe you were volunteering 🤓
@higherplane Spacewalk is brilliant and beautiful! Thank you for creating it.
Two things that I think would be amazing would be the ability to audition/play individual chords using the big multicolored rectangles that show the chord type and then to be able to drag those horizontally to rearrange the order of the chords. (Okay, and an undo button...)
Spacewalk is great! I’m so glad it exists. A useful tip I believe originally shared by @Gavinski is the option to adjust the clock ratio under plugin settings in AUM to increase/decrease the timing of the arrangement.
Getting so much out of this lil fella- it was a fabulous late 2025 surprise release that I keep loading on projects. Big ups to the fella who recommended the root btw
My humble demo

@eylvy great channel. Appreciate you brother.
@higherplane congrats on the success of spacewalk. it's pretty special, imo. It was released at a prime spot where apps like Booga, outgrowth, battlestation compliment it very well. Really enjoying it.
Unfortunately this update is Mac only . Ios update “in the near future .”
Nice! Looking forward to the, wait.. “iOS update in the near future”???
Does that mean they’re adding iPhone support? Or is this one of those things where they’re still calling the iPad’s operating system “iOS”? 😆
(Seriously though, I wouldn’t mind also having this on my phone as well!)
I feel it's a strange strategy and not very accommodating to us (second rate users) on iPadOS. OR it's a very smug plan toward us to buy desktop version out of curiosity. I can't in anyway, as it doesn't work in Reason. 🙂↔️🙃
Or maybe it's because I'm just one person with a full time job working on this in my spare time and therefore I can only do one thing at once.
Hope you enjoy the update when it comes out.
If anyone would like to be on the testflight then send me a private message.
I just thought it odd since the code is done for Mac it shouldn't be a full rewrite doing it for iPad, but you choose an app not yet released before doing that. It's of course up to you, I just spoke my mind.
>
I'm sure I will, it's needed and another reason for my small vent. I do like the potential but as is (1.1.4) it feel some things are missing and I read the release notes for Mac, I want them. 😁☺️
I had a weird issue with this app a couple days ago. I opened it, messed around with it, then exited out of it completely. Yet somehow, when I was checking my battery status, somehow the app had been actively running in the background for almost an entire day, even though there weren't any apps running at all during that time. No idea what's going on there....
The multi midi feature is awesome...I've been using it on desktop for a while now and just started testing on the ipad...
This place is a rough crowd. Don’t take it personally. 😉
This app is just about perfect for musically generating notes so there’s something to feed synths and fx for noodling around and it replaces like 3 other apps I always had to wire up and still didn’t do this good of a job.
@higherplane thank you for doing the TestFlight beta 🙏
Haven’t had any issues with my initial testing, though I did send in some feedback/suggestions through the TestFlight feedback channel.
One idea I had for each of the midi channels, was to add an octave selector switch next to each of the midi channel selectors.
And my other feature request, which I’ve wanted since I first started using Spacewalk, is an option to re-trigger all the notes of a chord on each bar, even if it’s the same note.
(for example, in this screenshot, when it changes to the F major 7 chord, only the very top (soprano) note gets triggered. I’d like an option in settings to enable all notes of a new/next chord to be triggered)
True. It's rare for the haply users to post.
I have no trouble waiting and thanks for continuing development on this great tool!
What a dope update. Good looking out
+1
Thanks - I appreciate the feedback (saw it the other day
)
The re-trigger... sounds like it would be an easy thing, eh? Nope
- I actually had a go at implementing that a couple of months back and all manner of things broke... it's because Spacewalk's specifically designed to hold common notes rather than re-trigger. I will have another look at it at some point in the future (won't be for the 1.2.0 update) and see what I can do... People are using SpaceWalk in ways / for use cases that I didn't originally intend and the feedback is good
The octave selector - again, will look in to that one... my first thought is that that too won't be an easy one but will stick it on the list for investigation in a 1.2.x
Appreciate you taking the time to test and feed back!
