How to work with shifting meter
I am working on a song which has a verse structure with 3 bars of 5/4, then one 4/4, and then repeats.
B part is 4/4.
Any way this can be done in Loopy where the clock behaves? Follow actions?
At first i thought it could work with a simple 19/4 bar (5+5+5+4) for the verse, and then on cue make a switch to 4/4 for the B, but loopy doesn't allow more than 12 subdivisions..
Any help would be appreciated!

In the loopy Pro manual Clock section manual
Time Signature
You can set a wide range of time signatures in Loopy Pro by tapping the time signature button at the bottom right of the clock controls – by default, this will read “4/4”, indicating four quarter notes per bar. Loopy Pro lists common time signatures for you to choose from. The numerator (the top number) is the significant number in Loopy Pro. That is the number beats per measure. Loopy does not make use of the denominator (the bottom number). Time signatures displayed as 6/8 and 7/8 are the same to Loopy as 6/4 and 7/4.
If you enable the “Update Tempo” switch on this screen, Loopy Pro will keep the duration of each bar constant, while updating the tempo to fit the number of beats you have selected into that duration.
For meters where the beats per bar is longer than the highest selectable option, you might want to opt for 1/4 and set the master cycle length to the number of beats for a cycle. So, for 19/4. Set the meter to 1/4 and the master cycle to 19.
Thanks espiegel. This might work. I got a prototype working so far. Fingers crossed
@Gorm I do something similar, set the rhythm to 1/4 but I keep the cycle at 1 bar. So you have to remember to activate things within a beat, not a longer bar. But you can then have loops of any length basically. The only issue is that if you are doing more standard songs in 4/4 or 3/4 or whatever, and you have a 1 bar cycle, you have to remember to change your loop triggering mindset between songs too.
I am contemplating something that has 3x the 5/4 bars recorded in a single loop, with a follow action to change the meter to 4/4, then the 4/4 follow action to change back, and start the 5/4x3 again. This way the loop would go on until I shift to b part, and I stay with counting bars, so I don’t have to be super tight with the shifting (it’s 177 bpm) when I go to the b-part.. still not sure it’s doable, but will give it a go.. perhaps conditionals could work with something like this when it gets here eventually.
Anyway, will keep you posted, if I can manage the feat.
