I am sat quietly in the kitchen, close to the biscuit barrel, so wet in the mouth awaiting my treat, I have been so good for so long now WHEN IS THIS SOON THAT YOU SPEAK OF?
I hope very soon isn’t more very soon than the Roland very soon.
I also hope to see Funk Drummer get the auv3 treatment.
Been waiting on HipHop drummer & Future Drummer to get auv3 for a while as well
Although they may need to fix the shop bug for those that buy on iOS....if you then try and use it on MacOS the app tells you to buy the full version!
I’d suggest letting Lumbeat know on their Discord.
Already let him know via FB....Luis responds reply quickly to messages.
I’ll second.
This is good news. I used Lumbeat for a while but Pop Drummer being AUv3 made it feel too segmented from the rest of the suite. My favorite feature is sending grooves between drummers and that’s felt like more of a hassle lately with IAA and Pop Drummer unable to send/receive grooves on launch made it even worse.
So when this happens, is this actually a bug the devs themselves can fix? I was always under the impression from previous discussion here that it was an actual bug with the AppStore itself.
My biscuits are burnin’
@LuisMartinez
I hope you might add a play/stop command that was not linked to the host. I'd really like to start my host without a drummer playing and switch it on later. That seems not possible at the moment, it always starts playing with host start.m My workaround is to mute it during start, then stop it, then unmute it and set it to play. Which is a bit of a pain!
Very excited for soft drummer AUv3 though, it's my faourite.
It’s very easy to build rest measures into your songs. Quite often I will program (for example) 32 or 64 bar rest intros before the drums or drums & bass come in together. Also allows you to create nice intro bars with a bit of flash.
@amarok I guess, but I don't think that would work for me, I have a flexible template for live looping, that has to cope with every song I want to do.
It actually doesn't work even with an external controller. I have loaded Pop Drummer AUv3 into a hosting app on MacOS and I have an external controller to control start stop, fill, fill too end etc. Which all works fine in standalone, but once in the host app, it is all tied to the host app play controls.
In Reaper, I can start the player with nothing else in the project, but in the host app it MUST have a media file to enable the playbar! I really wish AUM will make it to MacOS one day as you can link a controller pedal to the play tab in it, regardless of anything else being loaded.
@pax-eterna I have most of those things working in Loopy Pro. I have start/stop and fill amongst other thing mapped to the AUv3 Pop Drummer. I just can't get it to ignore LP's start command and wait for one at my instigation... So i can stop and restart Pop Drummer once it's already going.
Create an empty pattern that way when the host starts PD is silent.
Is it what you asked for? That small lock icon near the Play button do the trick.

@espiegel123 that could work
@filo01 that could be it! I'll investigate
EDIT: I investigated and thought it was the answer to my problems... But then I couldn't get it to work reliably so I'm unsure on that one.
but thanks!
You may want to discuss this with the developer on the Lumbeat Discord. He is active there.
That was it! Thanks for that. Just enable that lock and set the Tempo/Sync to on in Camelot Pro (which is saved as a parameter in the song) and the external controller now works as expected!
Oh man! You just solved so much irritation & frustration I had when working with pop drummer!
Actually the start/stop is working really well, except, sometimes the lock flicks off for no apparent reason. it happened after I'd toggled my play/stop foot switch a few times. I'll continue trying it out. I might head to the discord, I didn't know he had one.
EDIT... did some playing around, the lock is turning itself off for me. I thought it might be related to Drummer preset changes, it seems to happen after I've done a bunch of those, but then it also did when I was just recording some loops with no Drummer interaction. So it might just happen randomly.
However it's still a win as the lock tends to stay on from starting host play, which is when I need it. thanks @filo01 for somehow knowing about that!
Brilliant! Thanks Lumbeat!!
Really cool! Thank you! I'll buy the Clayton IAP for support.
