  • There's already a active thread: https://forum.loopypro.com/discussion/68233/soft-drummer-by-lumbeat-auv3-support-incoming/p1

Maybe a merge @wim (I dunno how that works or if it does?)

I see that Luis and I posted at the same time. I'll move my post here and delete it from the "incoming thread."

Thank you very much, Luis! <3

Important information from Lumbeat Discord channel:

Heads-up for Soft Drummer Audio Unit (AUv3) users

If you've used a previous version of Soft Drummer, please open the standalone app once before you start working in the Audio Unit.

That single launch migrates all your existing content — grooves, soundsets, live pad sets and mixer presets — into the Audio Unit. Once it's done, close and
reopen the Audio Unit in your host so the migrated content appears.

⚠️ Important — do this first: if you load the Audio Unit and save new presets there before opening the standalone app, that one-time launch will bring your
old library across and replace what you created in the AU. So always do the standalone launch first; after that, create away — everything stays in sync.

I think it's better to keep the "official" announcement from the developer. I'll just make post a link to this one in the longer thread if nobody has already done that.

  • @LuisMartinez Very generous to make this a free upgrade, especially considering Soft Drummer was first released in 2016, so it's a ten-year-old app.

  • Congrats @LuisMartinez ! An instabuy for me. Can’t wait to incorporate this into my loopy pro performance template.

    Some feature requests please:

    1. In addition to the “toggle” midi commands (hat/ride, cross/snare), could there be a “set” option so I could explicitly set which option is used?

    2. Accept midi input for the drums while they’re already under control of the drummer. I’d like to add to what’s being played with a finger drum midi controller.

Thank you again for the auv3 treatment!

  • Always been my favorite Lumbeat drummer… thank you so much @LuisMartinez ♥️🙏

Has anyone requested multi out do you know @filo01? And any word on whether that's planned for an update soon?

    Preach! Where’s the tip jar?

Can I show my appreciation by paying double for Metal Drummer? 😂

I tried doing a full-text search for "multi" and "multiout," but found no relevant results. So no one has requested this feature yet.

  • Awesome update! Thank you!

:) No tip jar, at least at the moment ... But you can always buy some the nice additional Drum Kit sounds or Drummers addons in Soft Drummer. Or any other Lumbeat app ;)

To be honest, you are actually the only user asking this feature for Soft Drummer :) . I spent several days running tests to see if we could make it happen, but the implementation turned out to be way more complicated than the benefit it would bring to the rest of the community.
For stem separation the Multitrack / Stems export has you covered, separate WAV files for Kick, Snare, and all drums ready to drop into your DAW.

Anyway, nothing is discarded... for the moment we have enough work for the next months.
    Thanks for your support!

OK thanks Luis. Tbh though I'd reframe that as 'you're the only person who's asked for that so far'. Because I always do hear people complain when drum machines don't have multi out. Some folk care a lot about this.

Yah I certainly do and I have always wanted that from the Drummer apps, particularly how the x/y pad lets one add so much nuance and spontaneity, would love to capture this in stems. But that said maybe the song mode will be able to facilitate this. Have yet to play with it, but if x/y automation can be captured there, that would be great!

Edit: yah looks like 1 bar lengths can have separate x/y settings, should do the trick for me! Yum! :)

  • Now just need an OCTACHRON midi map …. So good, thanks for this amazing upgrade!

I’d love multi-out, so if there’s a tally being kept add another tick mark. But I’d rather see AUv3 treatment across the board first.

Now a really obscure request is having Brazilian Drum Machine receiving/sending grooves. That one never gets used for me.

  • Dang, this is awesome. Thanks @LuisMartinez for the generous gift!

  • @LuisMartinez Thank you kindly for this beautiful gift! 🙏 Soft Drummer has a special place in my musical heart.. ❤️

  • I’m finding that I can’t set the groove using “adjust audio unit parameter” in loopy pro. This works with pop drummer. I can adjust other au parameters, just not groove.

    Can anyone else confirm this?

It looks like it isn’t working.

  • @LuisMartinez - It's not surprising that it hasn't been requested earlier since AUv3 is relatively new for your apps. That said, I can totally understand why you'd be reluctant to go through the effort. Adding AUv3 for free is way more than at least I ever expected. Thank you so much for this!

  • Yeah, I second what wim wrote. This is very cool, thank you.

  • It’s such great news & super generous to make that a free update. Can’t wait to get to work with it.

I see you reported it on discord - appreciated! I just joined their discord tonight.

  • Wow.
    This is great. Thanks!

  • Downloaded to try the “7 day free trial”, which lasted about 7 minutes. Then I was locked out of all features and playback. Was a rad seven minutes tho!
Maybe a bug with the time recognition or something? @LuisMartinez
