Nice.
One more glitchy thing
Enjoyed that last one 👍
Nice to see you using Transit 2 , I’m working on a track at the moment that uses it and a similar sounding preset…
Thanks for listening! Transit 2 is probably my favourite app right now, ridiculously overpowered. It's like a cheat code
Today I tried farting around with Tweakbox’s FIELD AU which is an ambient soundboard of sorts with Fauve and managed to garble out some nice Autechere/Aphex sounds.
@kyrillik nice.
Fractal bits w/ transit is cool too
Both pieces are excellent, @kyrillik . Thank goodness it's not an OP-XY video that makes me cry in US Dollars. 😂 Think I may get the Move. When you updated the firmware, were you able to do so with the iPad? Or did you have to use a laptop?
@kyrillik that first one is awesome, diving into the second but had to say it reminded me of Mike Pardines (U-Ziq)
OMG yes!!! I'm a huge fan of μ-Ziq, and once I was done with the track I saw the similarities as well. Obviously his beats are much more complex than mine, but the melody was definitely subconsciously inspired by his music.
Thank you very much! Ableton Move updates itself via wi-fi, which is yet another awesome thing about it
Gotta say I'm not a big fan of Autechre, too minimal for me. And while SAW2 is obviously a masterpiece, I like the breakbeat madness of the drill-n-bass side of Aphex more. I first encountered the name "Aphex Twin" in 1994 when I saw the music video for "On" played on MTV. My mind was thoroughly blown.
1994 was an amazing year of music for me personally. Wax trax, wutang, rage, hip hop seemed like it was peeking, when cassettes were still a thing,
cd's skipping and being rejected. lol good times.
That's awesome! 👏 And as far as file management goes, can that be done with an iPad?
Yep! File management is browser based, I just tested it in Safari, everything seem to work.
Oh, don't get me started... Nostalgia bait alert!
For me, the best albums of 1994 were:
Dummy by Portishead
Protection by Massive Attack
The Best Mixes by Bjork (with VERY weird remixes by Underworld, Sabres Of Paradise and Black Dog)
Republic by New Order
The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Ruby Vroom by Soul Coughing
Definitely buying myself an Ableton Move come the holiday season.
Whether on a monthly payment plan or just outright. It looks like boatloads of fun and easy to use. (I wonder if Son Wu has a video or two on it.)
Yep, it's awesome. Probably the only serious limitation is it's just four tracks, but if you use it with an iPad then the sky is the limit. I also like to use it as a midi controller for ios auv3s, like OneShot. After getting the beat going with the capture button (the best Move feature), I just record those notes into ios DAW.
Regarding Aphex inspired...
@Fingerlab has added P-lock per note in their new physics synth Jynth. (Currently in Beta)
It was just recently added the the Irridium workstation
