Hello, amp sims recommendations please
Hi, just joined as I started to try LP which looks like a cost effective tool for an intermediate electric guitar player to try looping and effects. After a bit of research for amp sims, think I might buy Tone Stack Pro, any other recommendations? Thanks, Rod.

@ducq54 just saying what’s up, and letting you know the pros’ll be along shortly lol
Welcome to the forum, mate.
As Drrabbitfoot said, the pros will be along shortly. 😂
Hi @ducq54, there are lots to choose from, but I always end up going back to Nembrini, my 'go tos' being the Faceman and MRH810 to scratch my Fender/Marshall itch, but they're all high quality, fx and all. I've posted many examples on the forum. You'll probably want to check out some IR's, again I use Nembrini's IR Loader with Ownhammer or York Audio IRs. Alternatively, NAM profiles have become more popular on iOS using apps like Nam XT, check out resident guitar maestro @flo.
You might want to edit your title and add 'amp sim recommendations', to catch more attention. Good luck.
I would try Primo first. It is a very high-quality despite being free and had great AUv3 parameter support.
I don't know Primo, but my feeling about Tonestack is it's a vast playground of "good enough" guitar FX at a reasonable price. Not a bad way to start at all.
I don't use it anymore because I've found some separate apps that I feel have better tone and responsiveness, and that are more satisfying for me. But that can be a long, expensive, and wasteful route. Tonestack would help you avoid that and get you up and running quite easily.
Hello and welcome...
NAM XT,and a few free profiles, and you are done.
Rather clean or distorted sounds.
Think about it,and you will find your way through all these profiles available.
Enjoy.
Flo
Welcome aboard and have fun!
Can’t get much better advice than from these guys^^
This is all you need. Though I personally prefer Nembrini's Range 120.
Hello and welcome. I prefer the Aurora dsp amps for high gain. They can be had very cheap when on sale.
I think if you go into tonestack having used some of the hardware pedals it’s emulating you could be disappointed. I’d almost say skip it if you already know what effects you like. I got it and barely touch it, and found it to be pretty mediocre out the gate.
If you want high gain or just good ways to load impulse responses Aurora DSP is great.
ANALOGyAMP is really good and affordable

Nembrini Audio has really good classic amps
Fat blob is good if you’re ok with lack of fx reordering, no IR loader, and no amp bypass.

Tonex is good if you like that style of capture.

I like the Nembrini and I also like Jatin Chowdhury’s BYOD. Plus the price is right.

I have some Nembrini and Amplitube (not the AUv3) and the free Tonex and some Tonestack. I think tonestack would be not be a go to. It's not great IMHO in terms of the sound of the amps.
I tried the free Primo and found it better than anything I'd tried. I play guitar for my meagre living and I'm a pretty experienced player for what that's worth.
As a free option it's definitely worth a try. It has a few useful FX in it too.
The tone(s) I like come from the 20th anniversary app.

If I were you, I definitely wouldn't buy the ToneStack Pro. Actually, I wouldn't buy it for any reason, because there are better alternatives available today.
This $2 app https://apps.apple.com/us/app/studio-camera/id6748624781 has AUv3 NAM player. And as Flo mentioned, go to https://www.tone3000.com/ and grab any profile you like.
Another vote for any NAM player.
I’m using the NAM player AUv3 included in the „Studio Camera“ app at the moment.
That in combination with a „Toneking Imperial Preamp“ profile from Tone3000 and I‘m good to go. Nice lush and creamy Fender amp type sound.
To round it off I add a hint of saturation (or sometimes proper overdrive) with the Nembrini Black pedal before the NAM player and a fresh breeze of reverb with Audio Damages EOS2 after.
My host app of choice is AUM.
It might not be the easiest of setups but to me no other digital solution ever sounded better. And it even runs on iPhone 😄✌️

Did anybody ask what style of music you play ?
+1 for 20th Anniversary. I have and like many of the others, but the sound and interface of this keep me coming back. The CC numbers for the pedals are fixed, so I use midifire to convert them (so I don't have to reconfigure my footswitch, which is set for other CCs in other apps).
