BLEASS Spectral Resonator

Hi,
There's a fairly new plugin out by Bleass. It's Bleass Spectral Resonator....

QUESTION - Does anyone know if get use out of it, if you pushed an audio or non-MIDI audio into it? like a guitar or violin??

If you push audio from an instrument (a real instrument) into it - do you still or also need to push MIDI info into it to make it produce cool sounds?

It's $15 and as usual all of the demos online show you playing a keyboard or drum into it. No guitars or otherwise on the demos.

Thanks!!

AJ

You could certainly try with a guitar or violin, but you're going to end up with something very droney if you're performing live, as the root frequency of the resonator will be static, if you're not inputting midi. It'll definitely be on the experimental end. It's mainly designed to be fed midi and/or noisy inputs like percussion.

  • @Gavinski Thank you so much for the response.

What If..... I created something like an atom roll, or MIDI note part in Loopy Pro, and played my violin 'along' with it, playing the same notes?

Maybe that's kind of silly. If I were to go through all of that /creating the MIDI notes, I might as well have the MIDI notes play a synth or something. Just "thinking out loud".

Yes, you could certainly do that - or you could even have the midi notes play a complementary melody, a harmony or whatever, might be interesting.

I’ve set up a few bars of chords in Helium, pointed it at Bleass Resonator, and then played electric guitar through it. I’m a fan of the results 🤙

  • I’m a sucker for anything with resonator in its name, I already have drambo though and there’s no reason I see this can’t be replicated there (and drambo has no shortage of resonators)
Is there anything unique this would bring to the table in regards to drambo?
Love the ui and the concept though

  • @Squishy .... by chance did you record any samples??

Here’s some noodlin on guitar with a couple basic chords in helium

  • @Squishy --- cool, thank you for putting that together.

It really shines when you can get it going per note. Here I have Harmony Bloom feeding the guitar and the resonator the same input:

That is the most compelling demo for this plugin so far!!
    Thanks!

  • Good stuff @Squishy
