lol I made a joke a month ago about there being a new release at the end of May right when the sale would expire..,,and I was right
That said THIS one sounds interesting
I feel like you and I fall in a similar cycle of thinking these are silly, but picking one up every third release or so lol. If anything, I think the dev tends to make incremental iterations on existing “staple synths” and then bring those ideas together into something interesting. I think I might actually be a fan of the approach, especially since they’re all pretty affordable on sale.
I have the VAPolyBass, Mk5, TZFM, 16 and Lead, in a way they are all pretty similar but they are very powerful, the Filters are that sharp they bite, I use them on all my projects now
I asked you a while ago about the pitch bend range and if you were able to scale it from one octave up/down to two semitones up/down, I now use the VAPoly synths in my KeyStage keyboard controller app and that scales the pitch bend to two semitones.
Ahh ok …glad it worked for you !
I picked this one up , and yeah I’m digging it so far . Really digging the sound
From the descriptions it seems like there’s a lot of overlap ….but TS showed me otherwise. The description makes it sound pretty much like the “regular “ va poly series , but its actually pretty similar to something like the Virus . It was a pleasant surprise .
This one? Digging it so far and can make some really interesting sounds with it. Haven’t ran into any bugs in standalone…will test it out in GarageBand shortly
The VAPolyTZFM sounds far better than the FMWest, I’m comparing the 2 minute FMWest demo to my TZFM and this is just my opinion.
Mike
Yeah the demo video doesn’t really do it justice . I’m finding that so far I’m having the most success making bass sounds. Weird part is , I was expecting something that sounds FM with some west coast overtones, but it’s actually the other way around (not a bad thing just unexpected).
TZFM is really cool though
Yes definitely. I will wait until Doug (SoundTestRoom) demonstrates the FMWest, then I will decide, I already took the plunge and purchased the first five apps over a just a few days and realised they all sounded very similar to each other!
